HAPPY EASTER!!!

Happy one hour left of Easter!! :)

I apologize for not writing for a while. I've been super busy with only 40 days left till my wedding (I'm really beginning to stress!!) My Easter was good. The Easter Bunny gave me some pajamas, the pants were Mickey Mouse, the top was all the lyrics to One Direction's "That's What Makes You Beautiful". I also got a Jamba Juice gift card and an iTunes gift card. And as a tradition, I got Peeps, Butterfinger eggs and Reese's eggs (which are pretty much my favorite thing ever, if you got any for Easter and don't want them, send them to me).

I got another set of engagement photos done on Friday. I think they turned out really well. I loved our photographer, Amy Bennion.  I won this photoshoot at one of the bridal fairs I went to. She is fabulous to work with! She is incredibly talented and her work is beautiful! She's also very nice and kind and friendly. I like her a lot.

I had a wonderful Easter post planned, but maybe I'll save it for next year... then I'd have more time to get it together, because it's awesome but would take some planning on my part. So keep reading my blog and next year I'll give you an Easter treat!

MY DRESS!!!

I GOT MY WEDDING DRESS!!!

I apologize that the picture isn't great quality and I'm in my awesome cow pajamas (actually, I don't apologize for that) and that my hair is wet and I'm wearing no makeup and that my face is covered in Vaseline. Yep. Oh, and I guess I apologize that you can't actually see the dress, but that makes sense. I have a snooping fiance who is getting very anxious to see me in that dress. I'm getting excited too! Only problem is, I can't get it on... it doesn't fit... dang. We'll have to work on that... Well I'm super excited!!! 46 days!!!

Moments

Today is going downhill. It started out good. I woke up feeling great and well rested. I watched parts of Despicable Me and Ever After (both fantastic movies). I drove to Logan (which seemed to take forever!!). We got some Paradise Bakery (yum!!!). Then I bought Chris's ring (we only have 48 days left!!!). We looked up housing options (we're running out of time!!!). Then he left for work...

So I've been sitting in his apartment playing on his laptop for the past two hours watching Avatar: The Last Airbender.... and his roommate joined me...

I feel awkward... But whatever. Only a month (ish) till his only roommate is me. :)

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I LOVE MY NEW HAIR COLOR!!! I always have my cousin dye my hair because she's great at it!! She is fantastic and is doing my hair for my wedding. She lives in the Orem area and can give you her contact information if you're in need of a new fantastic hairstyle. Pictures of my new hair will be coming soon. :)

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Avatar is fantastic. I just can't stop watching it! I'm very upset that Nickelodeon won't play it for me anymore. It makes me very sad and depressed. They play it sometimes, but at inconvenient times. And it's best when the play it with Avatar Extras, because they're funny and let me learn more about the show, which is good since I've already seen every episode... multiple time.

Avatar is available on Netflix if anyone wants to check it out. That's what I'm watching it on right now. I also get it for free on my Kindle Fire through Amazon Prime. I'm so glad my dad has Amazon Prime. It gives me Avatar and helped us buy stuff for my wedding for cheaper. Good times. :)

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I love Christopher! He just makes my life so much better! He means so much to me. And he's very attractive. So attractive! How did I get someone so attractive? I'm so lucky!! He's just the nicest guy ever!

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

If I lived in the Avatar world, I'd like to be an airbender like Aang. Just watch the show, Aang can do almost anything! He's super talented and can pretty much fly! Who doesn't want to fly? More importantly, airbending can be done anywhere! Air is everywhere! Waterbenders need water, earthbenders need earth, firebenders can produce their own fire so... ignore them... but airbenders can get air from anywhere! They can be unstoppable because air is everywhere!

I'd also like to say Toph is amazing. I'm watching the episode 'The Blind Bandit'. Toph is amazing. Truly amazing. If I was an earthbender, I'd want to be like Toph. My brother wants to be an earthbender. I think earthbenders are really cool... but mostly just Toph. :)

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I don't really have anything else to say except more about Avatar. But that's cool. Have a great day! You're awesome!

A Day in The Life of Me

7:30 AM

Alarm goes off. "Aw man! Time to get up already? No thanks!" Snooze button!!

8:10 AM

Alarm goes off again for the 15th time. "Aw man! Now I'm running late!" Get up, text Lindsay happy birthday (I love you Miss Lindsay!!), text Chris to say good morning (can't wait till we live together and can just see him every morning!!!), put on makeup, straighten hair, spend forever figuring out what to wear, spend a few minutes searching for my ID badge for work, gather my purse, my work testing supplies, and run downstairs.

8:30 AM

Sit quietly drinking my weight-loss shake, wondering why I was rushing so much! I don't have to leave till 8:40! Finish drinking my breakfast and head upstairs to play on my Kindle.

8:45 AM

"Oh no! Now I'm late!" Fill up my water bottle, grab all my stuff and run to my car. Drive for three minutes to arrive at my old elementary school!

8:50 AM

Check in with front desk. "Umm... who are you and what are you doing?" They ask. I groan. "I'm with the school district, I'm doing UALPA testing for the ELL students." "Oh yeah, you're using the kiva today." But that's all they know. They don't know what I'm doing so I try to get things figured out and wait for the other testers to arrive (which is funny sometimes because I'm 22 and their always older than me, but the look for me for guidance just because my mom is the boss... that doesn't really mean I know what I'm doing...)

9:30 AM

Begin testing kids, read the same script over and over again, fill in bubbles, get told by a six year old "You look great today!!", "Thanks little girl, I tried so hard in the twenty minutes I used to get ready, your braids look pretty awesome, by the way.", remind kids that I can't give them the answers to the test, and so on and so forth and what have you? (any The Middle fans around here???)

1:30 PM

Finally done testing! Start driving home to get something to eat... and drive right past my house to go to Jimmy Johns (totally obsessed with Jimmy Johns!!!). Eat the booth by myself and watch as a bunch of Juan Diego students walk in (apparently it's the Juan Diego after-school hang out joint!).

1:40 PM

Drive a ridiculously long way to get to Joann's (which is technically in the same parking lot as Jimmy Johns), pick out a photo album for Lindsay for her birthday, walk around the store for forever getting ideas for ballroom costumes, my future home and my wedding. Ultimately decide not to buy the photo album and walk out empty handed.

3:00 PM

Drive back home and go straight to my laptop, look up ballroom costumes and think of ideas for mine, start stalking Dance Moms Twitter feeds (Maddie's, Brooke's, Chloe's, Christi's and so on and so forth and what have you?), watch dance videos on Youtube, look up pictures of dance on Pinterest, just basically become dance obsessed without actually dancing, decide I need to work on dancing so I decide to stretch... while continuing to stalk Dance Mom's Twitter.

5:00 PM

My mom comes home from work, I tell her about my day and eat some applesauce.

5:30 PM

Help my mom get ready for her pioneer musical number for the relief society dinner.

6:00 PM

Go to the relief society dinner (thirty minutes early) and help set up out of the kindness of my heart, start smelling the delicious smells of relief society dinners, and listen to them practice their funny musical number.

6:30 PM

The dinner starts and man! I love Heidi Buck! Not just because she's being a huge help with my wedding food, but because she makes such great food! That chicken, was the best chicken ever! And that apple pie? Tamera, you're not just amazing because you're throwing me a bridal shower, but because you're an award winning pie maker (I didn't just make that up, she really did win a contest with her pies). Then I watch the musical number and learned that I didn't get my dance skills from my mom (love you mom!). Then I sit and listen to everyone talk about service and even I got handed the microphone to talk about service.

8:45 PM

Help Heidi stuff her bike back into her car, but it doesn't fit so I ride with her and make sure it doesn't fall out while she drives with the trunk open (see, service! I learned so much at this dinner!)

9:00 PM

Return home and go straight to my laptop to write this post and watch Friends!!!

Estimated 11:00 PM

Realize how late it is and how early I'm supposed to get up tomorrow and finally go to sleep. Yep.

Fight the New Drug

Facebook is mean. It makes pictures show up on my Home Page just because my friends want them. Sadly, this ends up being pictures I don't want to see. So when a picture of a naked woman showed up on my Home Page, I reported it to Facebook. I don't think nudity and pornographic pictures of women should be allowed on Facebook where anyone can see them. It would break my heart if my little brother found that Facebook profile page and saw the many naked women and semi naked women shown on that profile page.

A few hours later I got a notification from Facebook:

They wouldn't remove the photo. I don't understand how a picture of a naked woman doesn't "violate our community standard on nudity and pornography".

So I did a little research:

"Expose limitations on the display of nudity." Limitations? Why not just ban nudity on Facebook? There's already way too much of it on the internet, why can't Facebook step up, be a man, and declare that they won't allow it? I'm very in shock that this photo wasn't removed.

I am a "Facebook Fan" of a photographer on Facebook and she once had a Boudoir album of photos she took. She was very careful to put up only the ones that were safer and not revealing. While the images were of women in their underwear, I have to admit, they were beautiful images. I didn't feel offended by those pictures, I didn't feel she was portraying these women in a negative way, she showed the beauty of the women and it was not pornographic. However, too many people reported her images to Facebook and she removed the album from Facebook.

So when I found this profile page containing hundreds of pictures of nude and semi-nude women, posing provocatively (that's the difference) in their underwear I was sure I could get it removed from Facebook. Those pictures made me uncomfortable. They offended me as a woman. They showed off big boobs and nudity and I truly believe that images like that should not be allowed on Facebook. But it didn't happen.

I have seen, personally, how pornography can ruin lives and marriages. A very close friend of mine is currently dealing with her parent's divorce, stemming from an addiction to pornography. I have seen a relationship, where the girl suddenly felt very inferior when her boyfriends started looking at pornography, and it nearly killed their relationship.

Pornography is a very real problem. And I'll be honest, it scares me. I'm very protective over my little brother (regardless of the fact he's 17) and I learned he was looking at pornography, my heart would break. I would be devastated! If my fiance looked at pornography, it would make me feel inferior, like I'm not good enough, and it would have the potential to ruin our relationship.

Fight the New Drug is a non-profit organization that works to educate people on the harmful effects of pornography. Pornography is just as addictive as a drug. It's just as harmful. And it's a problem that needs to stop. I highly recommend checking out Fight the New Drug, they are very informative and resourceful. They really know their stuff.

I know that it would be really difficult to rid the internet of pornography. But I wish that it wouldn't appear on Facebook, where it could suddenly appear on the Home Pages of adolescents, like it did on mine. I encourage my readers to look at Fight the New Drug and educate yourselves on the problem and become a fighter.

Fight against this! Fight for what is wholesome and right! Fight for a better world! Fight the new drug!

The People That I Hate

Now this post isn't going to list specific names, it's not meant to hurt anyone, it's not supposed to be offensive. I've been very upset lately with my lack of "friends" and with the people around me who treat me horrible. I do like people, I do love the people who are my real friends, I feel very blessed to have the people around me that I do (like my parents, siblings, and my fiance) and I love the people who read my blog. This is purely a venting session (that I chose to put online for the world to see, for some strange reason).

I hate people who talk badly about other people. Or plot against other people. Especially when the people they are plotting against are my friends and I'm right there, listening. Please just stop. Think before you say mean things about people who you hardly even know!

I don't like girls who are constantly looking to cause drama and problems. No. It's dumb. Especially considering I'm 22, the people I'm around should be old enough to realize that causing drama is just dumb.

I hate people who treat me like a little kid or like I'm in high school. Sometimes I understand, if you don't know me I do look like I'm in high school. But for the people who know me, you should realize I'm 22, I've been in college three years, I'm getting married, I work full time, I'm not a child... at all. And if you're younger than me, you don't really have the right to boss me around and treat me like a child. Especially when you have no real authority over me.

I don't like guys who think they can take advantage of women and get away with it. They think that they can leave and be fine, but girl's minds and hearts work a bit differently than that. The girl will never forget. She will never be able to get over that stupid moment in her life. She will always be haunted by it and wish it had never happened and they'll never be able to look at that boy the same way again. I hate those boys. I hate them the most because they hurt people, truly hurt people.

I hate braggers. Don't make other people feel like tiny worthless creatures. It's awful and heartless. Please, I do like hearing people's accomplishments, I really do, but I just don't like bragging about it.

I hate liars. People who are fake and phony. This especially true when it comes to friends. I hate the "friends" who aren't really your friends. Who only have time to be your friend when it's most convenient for them. If you can't take the time out of your "busy schedule" with all your other friends to make time for me, maybe we aren't really friends.

I hate people who aren't kind. Is it really that hard to be nice? You never know what people are feeling inside. Take it from someone who had depression, you never know what a small act of kindness can do. It can change a person, it can save their life. But just like kindness can change a person, so can being mean. It can ruin a person. You never know. Kindness always wins.

I love my friends and family. I love my fiance because he is nice to everyone in the world and he is especially nice to me. My sister is the kindest person that ever existed. She's the sweetest, nicest and most amazing person there is and she will do anything to make the people around her happy. She's always happy and her happiness is contagious. She's an incredible inspiration of friendship and kindness and I love her for that. My parents are incredible. They taught us to be kind and giving and to care about other people. They taught us not to hate, but to try to understand the people around us.

There are nice people in the world, but sadly they get drowned out by the cruel people in the world who don't think about the feelings of others. And I hate that.

I truly believe that it's not that hard to just be nice to people. Can we please just be nice to people? Then I would have to write a post like this, because I wouldn't encounter any people like this anymore.

Randomness on Benadryl

I love Fiber One 90 calorie brownies. They are delicious and low in calories! They are soft and moist and delicious! Sure the don't compare with my mom's amazing brownie recipe, but they are so yummy and much easier to eat than my mom's brownie, because I'm not a fan of cooking.

I also love Tree Top Fruit Snacks. And the current box of them I have is extra delicious! I love fruit snacks. I love kid food. I love acting like a kid while eating my food. I eat Cheerios like a child. In little Ziploc baggies from my purse, eating them with my fingers. Man I love Cheerios. Now I want some...

I'm exhausted. I worked seven hours today! Running around with little kids. (PS, I just left to go get Cheerios). I love How I Met Your Mother. It's like my favorite show! And I'm so happy that it's on TV for me to watch while I sit here, exhausted from Benadryl for my stupid rash.

I don't even know what it's from! But it's on my face, and neck, and chest, and back and I hate it! It's itchy! It ruined my workout plans! And now the medicine is making me too tired to even do a small workout!

Time for webcam pictures with my Cheerios collage!

I'm so glad I usually watch How I Met Your Mother on Netflix because on TV they keep skipping stuff! Yes, I've seen every episode too many times that I know the TV is skipping parts.

I love the webcam on my laptop! I love using it with my BFF Kristina. I miss Kristina. I never see her! But we used to make all these music videos on my webcam. I love them! I love that I can go back and watch them anytime I want. I love Kristina! ... I just texted her to let her know that I miss her so much!

If anyone is still reading this. Props to you. Here's a little treat for you:

Apologies

I've been meaning to write on this blog for a while now. I have tons of posts in the works. But I've just been much too busy!!

Dealing with work constantly, workouts every night, my fiance visiting me during his Spring Break, getting sick, planning a wedding and getting a stupid rash on my face... I've been booked solid. Seriously too busy to sit down with my laptop and write a real post.

So all you get is an apology post. And pictures from my webcam of me trying to look apologetic. (Sorry, my hair is still wet from my shower)

Yeah... because I don't have time to write posts, but I have time to take pictures with my webcam. I make so much sense. :)

Sore

I love being sore. My workout today was killer, I was sweaty and exhausted and I already feel sore and tired. But I love it! Because it means that I worked hard and I did exactly what I was intending to do.

Today started out awful!! I was sick. Literally sick. But I had to work anyways and then I did major cleaning/packing of my stuff so I'm ready to move back to Logan in two months. My room is looking great! It's so ready to be turned into a guest room!!

But I still felt sick... but then I worked out and... suddenly I felt better. It's amazing how that works out. I love working out and I'm going to do it everyday until my wedding (and after the wedding too). I love it and I'm so excited to get looking strong and sexy!! ;)

This picture is like 3 years old, but whatever...

Week of Workouts: Ultimate Diet Plan

I haven't done a post like this in a while, but it's only a little over a month till my wedding, and I still haven't lost the weight I wanted to! And I don't have my six pack yet!! So I'm buckling down and getting stuff done. This post is everything I'm going to be doing this week to help me get in shape!

First off, I recommend downloading the app My Fitness Pal. I use this app to keep track of what I'm eating and how much exercise I get. It calculates a good calorie limit for my body. You can tell it how many pounds a week you want to lose and it adjusts to all your information. I love this app! In fact, I think I'll write a full review on it later.

DIET:

My calorie limit is 1200 calories a day. I try to drink a lot of water. Water really helps in losing weight and maintaining health and energy in your body. I have a Britta water bottle that I carry with me everywhere and I try to drink three bottle fulls of it a day. I love my Britta bottle because it also filters the water I'm putting in it, and I love that feature because I hate gross water.

I'm also trying my best to eat fruits and vegetables every day. The goal is three servings of each every day. I usually fail at that, but I will always eat at least one serving of each a day. Fruits and vegetables are so good for a healthy diet and your body loves them!

I will not allow myself to eat sugar on weekdays!! On weekends, I'll allow it but in small amounts. Like last night I had a cupcake, but that was the only sugar I had of the day. I'm also trying to reduce my intake of sodium. I'm kind of addicted to salt, but too much salt keeps you bloated. So reducing sodium will help me lose weight as well. (but I don't think anyone eats as much salt as I do, so you won't have to worry about that)

Other than that, the goal is to never exceed 1200 calories a day. That's like 400 calories a meal, which makes it totally possible to stay under 1200. At least for me. I usually don't eat much more than 1200 calories in a day.

EXERCISE:

Exercise is crucial in losing weight! My goal is to burn 500 calories a day, six days a week (Sunday is a day of rest). Since I work at a gym, I have a membership at Treehouse Athletic Club in Draper, Utah. They have a very large an nice facility there. I also have a two week pass to Pure Barre in Draper (thank you mom and dad!!).

When I go to the gym, I use an elliptical for 30 minutes or less. I run on that for as fast and as hard as I can (my playlist helps motivate me, more on that later). Then I go over to the weight area. I use a machine to workout my thighs. I go until it hurts and then do as many more as I can. I use a stability ball and do as many crunches as I can till it hurts. Then I grab a weight and start working my arms. I go until my arms are too tired. Then I get back on the ball and do crunches again till it hurts, then arms till it hurts. After that I go to this railing that I use as a ballet barre (I grew up doing ballet my whole life, it's a necessity). I do some plies and then I work on kicks. I get weird looks every time, but I don't care. Then I stretch on the railing like a barre.

This workout routine works really well for me. It makes me sore the next day. My problem was, I was only doing it once or twice a week. The new goal is to do it every day. If I can't make it to the gym, I do these videos:

These videos are fantastic and I really feel it when I'm doing them. I also love crunches! Most people say they hate them, but I love them. So I do them all the time to work on my core.

MOTIVATION:

One of the hardest things when working out is motivating yourself. SO HELP ME!! Seriously, I need more motivation. Having you write and leave comments on my blog about what you do to keep motivated would help me greatly and I'll do all I can to return the favor!! Think of this like a forum, like a communication board to get each other in shape. We can help each other, we really can.

I love my iPod!! I have the iPod Nano 6th generation and it has a little Nike fitness "app". I tell it how many calories I want to burn and it keeps track of it while I'm on the elliptical. Not only that, when I do my best workout a voice over of Lance Armstrong comes on and he tells me that I'm great. It just makes me feel good to have someone say my workout was great. :)

I also love my playlist I've made! For me, listening to music is crucial when working out. I work out to the tempo of my music, so it has to be high energy to keep me going! It includes the following songs and more to keep me motivated:

  • I'm Sexy and I Know It --LMFAO
  • Only Girl (In the World) --Rihanna
  • Sexy Back --Justin Timberlake
  • Shake it Up --Selena Gomez
  • We R Who We R --Ke$ha
  • Sexy Chick --David Guetta
  • Don't You Think I'm Sexy? (Disco Cardio Version) --Disco Cardio Various Artists
I like working out to songs that say "sexy" because that's the body I'm working towards. :)

If you're looking for a "sexy" body too, please communicate with me and we can motivate each other! These are my goals, and you are more than welcome to follow along with me, so long as you tell me how it works for you! :) Good luck!!

Read the Book of Mormon in 50 Days!

I had a goal to read the Book of Mormon before I got married. And so far, I've failed. I've read 1 Nephi, and that's it, and, unfortunately, that the part I already know and have read the most! But I still have two months (exactly) and it's still a goal I want to achieve. It's become more of a challenge to myself and also to you, my readers.

I created a challenge to finish the Book of Mormon in 50 days.

I want you to join me! Whether it's your first time or your hundredth time, it's always a good thing to read the Book of Mormon again. Joseph Smith called the Book of Mormon "the keystone of our religion" and it truly is. The scriptures bring joy and comfort! They make us wise! So why wouldn't you want to read it?

If you are not LDS and would like to join me in reading the Book of Mormon, but do not have one, please contact me! I am more than happy to send you a free copy of this great and wonderful book. If you have any questions regarding the Book of Mormon or the LDS church, feel free to ask me and I will do my very best to answer your questions or find other resources to get you the answers you need.

If you are LDS and want to join me, I would also love to hear from you! I want to know about your experience. Every time I read the scriptures, I learn something new. I'd love to hear what new lessons and experiences you've learned while doing my challenge!

Feel free to copy the above image to your computer, tablet or mobile device. If there are any issues regarding the image, please let me know! Share this with all your friends and family so that they can take the challenge with you!

This will be an enriching experience for anyone who wishes to take the challenge! Thank you for reading and thank you for sharing!!

Death of a Salesman

Yesterday I went to a play with my parents. Just me and my parents. It was fun. It was Death of a Salesman, which I've read like four or five times in high school and college classes, but I've never seen it done live before. I LOVED IT!! It got me excited to teach high school English and be able to teach about Arthur Miller's wonderful play! :)

If you want to see it, it's being shown at The Grand Theatre in Salt Lake City on the SLCC campus. It's a beautiful theater! You can find all the information you need here. Tickets range from $10 - $24. The show ends March 23rd, so go see it soon!!

...but if you go with your parents, be prepared to suffer the consequences. Last night all the could talk about was Biff and Willy. This morning my dad said I looked like I had a hangover (which, when I just wake up that is probably the worst possible thing to say to me or I'll be angry at you the whole day, keep that in mind Chris) because of Death of a Salesman. My parents are weird. But I love them! They really are the best parents ever! Why else would I be living with them at twenty-two? :)

Name Change

So you may or may not have realized that this blog has a new name! The problem is it also has a new URL. Meaning that all the links I put on Pinterest, now don't work. All the Google searches of my blog now don't work, because it leads to a URL that doesn't exist anymore.

So if you still found this blog and can still read it, help spread the word!! Here's the new URL: http://whenthecowscomedancinghome.blogspot.com/. Please help spread my blog around! It has a lot to offer and it's still growing, it just needs more people to follow it and it will truly become something great!

Don't forget to follow our Facebook and Pinterest pages!! (but keep in mind that the Pinterest links no longer work... I'm working on that.)

Thank you!!

I Hate Scooby Doo.

I work in a daycare. And although Scooby-Doo has been playing since before I was born, the kids still always watch it while I'm working. Not only that, they talk about how much they love Scooby-Doo. They have Scooby-Doo birthday cakes and clothes and shoes and everything! They say they love it and my coworkers always say "because everyone loves Scooby-Doo!"...

But I hate it. I hate Scooby-Doo.

Why do people like a GINORMOUS dog who's always eating and talks but emphasizes his "R"s in a really annoying way? I just don't get it. Dogs scare me. My own dog scares me and she's adorable. Scooby-Doo is huge and ugly and terrifying! I don't get why anyone would like that. I also don't get why the show has like ten billion episodes and spin-off shows and movies. It's the same freaking story every time!! It's the most unoriginal show there ever was! Every episode is exactly the same... annoying. And when I was a kid I was always afraid of monster shows, why do kids love Scooby-Doo so much, it's so creepy!!

Someone please explain to me why you like Scooby-Doo. I don't care how much the world likes it, my children are never watching Scooby-Doo in my house. Ever. Sorry Scooby-Doo, I just really hate you.

You Guys Rock!

I just wanted to say thank you again to all my readers!! It's amazing! I never imagined I would get this many page views so quickly!! Thanks for liking what I'm writing (or pretending to at least)!!

But what I want from you are COMMENTS!!! What else can I do to make this blog better for you? Do you want more fashion posts? More sports? More celebrity information? More reviews? More wedding info? What? Whatever you want, if you comment, I'll write about it! I want this blog to be exactly what you want! Thank you for all your page views! You guys mean so much to me!

P.S. --Like my new hoodie?? ;)

City Cakes

On Wednesday I designed my wedding cake!!! Chris and I went in to City Cakes to taste some cakes and decide exactly what our cake would be like.

City Cakes makes vegan and gluten free cakes. Now I'm not vegan and I can have gluten, I went to City Cakes for the price. And the taste. Just because it's a vegan cake, doesn't mean it doesn't taste the same. Chris and I both fell in love with their lemon cake (which will be the bottom and top layer of our cake). Chris didn't even know it was vegan until after. You cannot taste a difference.

It's delicious cake! We tried lemon, chocolate (the middle layer of our cake), red velvet, poppy seed (that had a beautiful red frosting-poppy on top that I was in love with because I considered red poppies as one of my wedding flowers), and a spice cake. All of them were delicious and it was a hard decision to pick which flavor to have.

Our wedding cake is going to be beautiful! The girl I worked with, Emily, was very friendly and sweet. She drew my dream wedding cake right in front of me. The bottom two layers look like this:

The cutest cake ever right? And then the top layer will have some black piping decorations on it. I'm so excited for my cake! I can't wait for it to be real!!

For our three layer cake it cost about $350 (and I think that's a lie, I honestly can't remember the total cost, but I do know it was a little more than $300). It was one of the cheaper places I looked at and I loved working with them. Everyone there was a delight and so friendly!

I do recommend City Cakes! I think that they are amazing and absolutely delicious!!!

Beautiful Wedding Announcements

So this Monday I designed my wedding invitations through Beautiful Wedding Announcements. So many of my friends used them for their invitations and they have a large audience. Why?

1. They are so easy to work with!

I worked with a girl who seemed close to my age. I sat next to her and told her my ideas and watched as she brought them to life on the large computer screen in front of us.  She was really easy and fun to work with and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.

2. They are very accommodating.

I didn't have any pictures to give her at the time and she told me how simple it was to email my pictures in and they'll get that done for me. I felt like they were willing to work WITH me not to work FOR me which is a great quality in a business.

3. They have a lot of great workers

When I got to their business (which is located in their home in a large office, I also got there late because I'm horrible with directions (not because it is hard to find)) I stepped into a group of friendly people all willing and ready to help. They didn't care that I was late. They made sure I was comfortable in their home.

4. They make sure it's exactly what you want

After we finished designing my invitation she printed out a copy for me to take home. I can now look over it, make sure it's perfect, and if there is anything else I want added I just have to email them. They will then email me back another copy so I can again verify it's exactly what I want. I know that there will be no mistakes on my invitation and that it will end up exactly they way I want it to.

5. The price is right!!

They offer amazing invitations that are exactly what you want for wonderful prices! They are the cheapest invitation place I found and also some of the best quality that I found! A lot of my friends went here as well because of this simple fact: through Beautiful Wedding Announcements, you can get the invitations you want at a price that works for you.

If you are looking to get invitations for your wedding I HIGHLY suggest visiting Beautiful Wedding Announcements located Riverton, Utah. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. They will work with you every step of the way and they will give you a price that won't put you over your budget.

*Bonus: They have a wheel that you can spin to win discounts or free stuff! I won 250 free thank you cards for after my wedding!! I spun the wheel at a bridal fair but I'm pretty sure you can do it when you go in for your consultation. They want you to be happy and they will make sure you get what you deserve and want.

Mission Calls!!

So today was a really exciting day for me! My future brothers-in-law got their mission calls and I got to be there when they opened them!! I've never really had anyone close to me go on a mission (I thought it would happen with my best friend Colton, but we sort of were fighting when he left. I'm still sad about that)  so this was really exciting for me.

Devin and Kellin are twins and I've been able to really get to know them in the past year and four months that Chris and I have been dating (Chris has another brother who is currently on a mission, but I only met him once and Chris and I weren't dating at the time). I like them and I'm happy that they're family to me! :)

Devin got called to the Oaxaca, Mexico mission!!

... and Kellin got called to the Washington DC mission!!!

I am so happy for them!! I think that both of their missions are super cool and I am so excited! I'm also very glad they don't leave till after my wedding, so they can be there when I truly become a part of their family. :)

Congratulations Devin and Kellin! I'm so happy for you!!

Why I Love Avatar: The Last Airbender

I'm obsessed with this show! Truly obsessed! Every night I watch Avatar. Why? Well let's see...

After writing this post I became sad. Because it's not enough. It doesn't accurately portray why I love this show. :(

1. The BoomerAANG Squad

Team Avatar is the best! They can do anything and I love them!!

2. Appa

I want Appa. I really do. I want a pillow pet of Appa but when I looked online for one they were like $70! That's an expensive stuffed animal!! Too expensive for my liking (I'd like donations so I can buy one. Ha ha.)

3. Sokka and Katara

They're in basically every episode and they are fantastic! They are great sidekicks to the Avatar and Sokka is the greatest at comic relief. I love Sokka. He's so great and always makes me smile no matter how many times I've seen the episodes.

4. Toph

Toph is the coolest person ever!! A blind earthbender who learns who to bend metal?? Seriously how could she get any cooler? She's amazing and so powerful!

5. It's a real story

I love the fact that each episode connects. It's all like a book, a beautifully written book. It is a great story and a wonderful show. I'm in love.

6. Uncle Iroh

Uncle is the best! He makes the show fantastic! He's so smart and funny and just fantastic! Also, one of the greatest firebenders! He's just so amazing!

7. Zuko

Zuko really is a great person. On Pinterest I keep finding this things "Zuko taught me". Zuko teaches you that you can become great, you can choose a good path no matter where you're from and what your circumstances are. And for a cartoon, he's pretty attractive. :)

8. Aang

Aang is the cutest!! I just love him! He's very smart and wise and a great little 112 year old! He is incredibly powerful and he just amazes me every episode! One of my favorite moments in the The Matchmaker episode after Aang battles a volcano and wins!! Sokka says "Sometimes I forget how powerful of a bender that kid is." (or something like that) Aang is just the greatest and the greatest lead character for a cartoon show.

9. Airbending

I wish I could airbend. I think it's the coolest thing ever! Aang is just so awesomely cool and talented and I really wish I could do it too.

10. The finale.

This moment:

It doesn't get any more incredible than that.

My New Job!!

So the point of me moving back home was to make as much money as I could before I got married and moved back to Logan to finish school. I've had my daycare job since I've moved home but I've also done work for my dad's company and now for my mom.

My mom works for the school district in the testing department. My job is to go to the different schools in the district and test the ESL and ELL students to see how well they are learning the English language. Well for those of you who don't know, my major is English teaching with a minor in ESL...

I LOVE MY NEW JOB!!

It feels really good to have a job that I like and that I'm actually really good at. I feel like a teacher testing students and I love it! It just feels right! Sure these are elementary age students and I'll be teaching  secondary age students, but being a teacher is something I like. I'm so excited to go back to USU to become a real teacher! I love my new job!

Outfits of the Week: February 25th - March 2nd

Monday I wore my black legging/jeggings and my gray jeweled top and black vest from Vanity. Not the best picture. It looked a bit better in person.

Tuesday and Thursday I had work at the daycare. I honestly don't understand why they makes us wear white and tan for working in a daycare. I deal with messy kids and babies with dripping bottles and crayons. It's not the smartest idea to make us wear light colors. I feel like I have to clean my work clothes after every time I work. (But I have two shirts now so I can trade!)

Wednesday I supported my USU Aggies!!! I'm getting really anxious/excited to go back to school soon! I really like this shirt and I got it at Walmart!!

Friday I wore one of my favorite outfits ever!! I wore my favorite red pants, also from Walmart (seriously people, I don't think it's necessary to spend a lot of money on clothes) and then a gray tank top that I've had forever and my new black cardigan from Target. I'm sorry I forgot to take off my ID badge from my NEW JOB and it caused a weird glare. I loved this outfit!! Note to self: wear it again!

Saturday I wore jeans and a t-shirt. I didn't even do anything to my hair really. I'm from Utah, I support the Utah Jazz even though I'm not a huge basketball fan. I spent the weekend in Logan so Chris took the picture and didn't understand the concept of a full-body picture. But I forgive him. :)

I forgot to take a picture on Sunday which is slightly depressing because I looked great! ;)

Firework --Brooklyn

So I've known this little girl basically since she was a baby. Her mom is great friends with my mom and when my mom was in labor with my little brother, we stayed at this girl's house. Her mom is almost like a sister to my mom.

I've sort of watched Brooklyn grow up, and all I have to say is that this girl is so inspiring! Brooklyn is deaf but she has never let that stop her in anything. Brooklyn was Miss La Verkin 2012 and she did a fantastic job of inspiring her community. I think she's a beautiful girl and she is just incredible!

Please enjoy this video and share it with your friends!! She's extraordinary!! Good luck Brooklyn in everything you do!

Walmart Adventures! 3/2/2013

I go to Walmart a lot when I'm in Logan because it's kind of a great store for poor college students. And you can find the craziest things in Walmart. There's a whole website about it! But I'm starting a new segment on my blog called Walmart Adventures to document my Walmart experiences!!

So I started with a game of dress up. I put on an Iron Man mask and a red cowboy hat!

I was very disappointed in myself because there was an aisle where someone had taken the end of all the plungers and stuck them to the ground, but when I went back to take a picture, a worker was cleaning them up. So I didn't get a picture. :(

I saw a bottle of Mountain Dew (that I think was already open) working on its camouflage. It did a pretty good job.

I decided to play a poorly executed prank.

Move the box and... SNAKE!!

In the candy aisle I found scented paint, erasers and pens. Hmm... yes their scented, but not edible. It's kind of misleading to put them by all the candy and gum.

We saw lots of animals that danced to LMFAO songs...

So obviously we pushed "Try Me" on all of them and ran. ;)

We didn't do it, but we saw a fallen egg carton... full of confetti filled eggs. Why was there so much Easter stuff when the next holiday is St. Patrick's Day? That always annoys me when stores get too excited for holidays.

Apparently it's break up season in Logan... No more Ben & Jerry's.

But the real purpose of our shopping trip was STAR WARS!!!

Chris deliberated long and hard for the perfect Lego set.

But after what felt like forever, he found the right one!

All and all is was a great Walmart Adventure!!
