Tooth Pain

So it's been a while since I've written something real. This blog used to only be about me telling stories and venting to you, but a lot has changed on this blog recently. I love the new changes, but I still want it to be the way it was. So today I'm venting to you.

For the past three days I've been in constant pain because my wisdom tooth is attacking me. I just need to get it taken out right away because it seems as though the pain won't stop until I do. Unfortunately my dental insurance doesn't start till Wednesday (although, I'm pretty lucky it's that soon considering the alternatives). But I haven't been sleeping because I wake up in pain and I can't eat hard things... or anything... And I'm basically living on pain killers.

So that's the excitement of my life.

I've been working a lot of overtime lately. We've basically been living paycheck to paycheck which means something like needing to get my wisdom tooth removed is impossible financially. But we've figured something out to make to work this time and I've been putting in a lot of overtime to get some extra money.

Chris has been applying for jobs and internships lately. We had a plan that I would work and he would focus on school, but while we've been able to get along fine that way, it's still been difficult. Chris finding a job will definitely help out. He had a big interview for the Deseret News, which would be awesome since his major is journalism. That's what we're hoping for even if it means we have to be apart for the summer since it's in Salt Lake.

I love my job. I feel like I don't get to tell ya'll enough how much I love my job. But I really truly do. It can be stressful and people make mistakes, but it's amazing. I have great work friends and we have lots of fun together in and out of work. I'm honestly so grateful I found this job that's so amazing to me.

I've been doing really well, been keeping myself busy, but happy. As I've said so many times before, I have a goal to do the things that make me happy. And while I can't afford to do some of the things I want to do, I've been keeping myself happy doing other things just at home. It's been good and even though I haven't been blogging as much, which makes me sad, I happy with the way my life is going.

We've been watching Chuck a lot lately. It's awesome and we like it a lot. Thanks to my sister for sort of introducing it to us!

I don't have anything else to say. But thanks to my loyal readers for all the love and support you give me. You're all amazing and I love you all. So thank you!

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Here's a terrifying secret for ya'll... I started making YouTube videos. This is terrifying because of my complete and utter inability to talk to people, public speak, or otherwise interact with other human beings. I'm a writer, and completely anti-social, and, I've said this many times before, I'm pretty sure I have social anxiety disorder. And even though when making YouTube videos I'm in the privacy of my apartment, knowing I'm talking to basically anyone on the internet absolutely terrifies me.

But I'm hoping that doing this will help me be able to talk to people more. I'm working on my shyness and inability to talk to people and this is my therapy. I also wanted another way to help you see the things that I do, rather than just from typing it out on here. I'll still blog all the time, but the videos will just be an addition, and a bit rarer.

So today I filmed a video of my everyday makeup routine and I will have that down below, but for now here is a list of all the products I am currently using and a short review on them. Enjoy!

Primer: REVLON Photoready Perfecting Primer

  • This is only the second primer I've used, but I really like this one because it has a pump which is handy and it moisturizes my skin, evens my skin tone, and really helps my makeup to stay all day. I haven't tried many primers, but I'm a big fan of this one.
Dark Circle Eraser: Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer

  • I've said it before, I'm a huge fan. I will probably always use this stuff.
Foundation: Maybelline New York Super Stay 24Hr Makeup

  • I'm not a big fan of this one. I bought it mainly because it's Maybelline and everything I use is Maybelline, but I don't like it. The bottle turned into a huge mess and I can't clean it. I think it looks good on and blends well but it's a bit heavy and something needs to be done about the bottle.
Mascara: Maybelline New York Volume Express Colossal Cat Eyes Washable Mascara

  • I love Maybelline mascaras, they are the reason I mainly buy Maybelline products. I've tried lots of theirs and this one isn't my favorite, but it's still really good. I think it puts a good curl in my lashes and doesn't look too clumpy or fake while still leaving my lashes soft to the touch. Love Maybelline mascaras!
Eyeshadow: Ulta Trendsetter
  • I'm not positive if that name is the exact color though... But I'm literally obsessed with this color and don't know what I'm going to do or how to find it again once it's gone. It's such a pretty, shimmery bronze that's both subtle and amazing. I'm in love.
Liquid Eyeliner: Maybelline New York Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner

  • I love this stuff for my upper lash line. It does such a good job and defining my lash line and goes on really smoothly and stays really well. Last summer I used it on my lower lash line as well and it still stayed through the day despite my constant watery eyes, so I love this liner.
Eyeliner: Maybelline New York Unstoppable Eyeliner

  • This is not my favorite waterproof liner, but it's still good. I recently started lining my water line and now I'm obsessed, I love the way it makes my eyes look (and I love my eyes) and doing this with a waterproof liner helps make the look stay through the whole day. I love doing my eyeliner this way and this liner is pretty good at doing the job.
Finishing Powder: NYX Cosmetics Studio Finishing Powder

  • This is the first finishing powder I've used and I like it a lot. I honestly wish I had something like this back when I was in dance and was in competitions all day and needed my makeup to last forever. There's other finishing products I want to try, but I do like this one a lot.
Lips: Maybelline New York Baby Lips Crystal Lip Balm

  • I have three different Baby Lips and I love them all. They really moisturize and give a great color. I'm not a big fan of lipsticks, so I love colored lip balms.
One last thing, I got this new shirt from a LuLaRoe party last night and I love it! They have tons of super cute shirts, dresses, and skirts. I wish I could have bought more from them and hope to soon! You can find their Facebook page HERE

So anyways, I guess I'll get to the video now. Thank you in advance for watching and I'm working on getting better editing and images, so forgive me for the poor quality. I'm trying. Enjoy!

My Eyes

This is a poem-type thing about my favorite thing about myself. I was inspired to write about what I like best about myself and encourage you to do the same.

On days when my hair just won't work,
My makeup won't stick,
Or my outfit is a mess,
I have to remember what I have that makes me happiest.

I'm proud of my eyes.
I like how big they are
How dark.
When I was little I hated the color
I didn't like brown.
But it fits me, it suits me, it makes me me.

I like my eyelashes,
Both with makeup and without.
They curl and they're dark
They are long.

I love they ways my eyes look
I think they are beautiful.
I think my eyes are powerful.

I love my eyes not only for the way the look,
But for what they can do.
I can see mountains, waterfalls, smiles,
All thanks to my eyes.
They work hard for me, to let me see the beauty around me.

My eyes help with my emotions.
Sure they cry whenever I do,
But when I'm sad they look for happiness
They search for the things that bring me joy
Without my eyes, finding happiness would be hard.

I like when things are dark,
My hair, my clothes, my eyes,
But my eyes help me enjoy light as well.

My eyes are a blessing
They make me who I am.
They make me, me.
They make me happy.
They make me strong.
I'm proud of my eyes.

March Book Club: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

Well it's a new month so we have a new book to read! This month's book is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. My mom gave me this book and I kept meaning to read it but got distracted and such.

Here is a brief look at what this book is about taken from Amazon .

“I wonder how the book got to Guernsey? Perhaps there is some sort of secret homing instinct in books that brings them to their perfect readers.” January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she’s never met, a native of the island of Guernsey, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb….

As Juliet and her new correspondent exchange letters, Juliet is drawn into the world of this man and his friends—and what a wonderfully eccentric world it is. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society—born as a spur-of-the-moment alibi when its members were discovered breaking curfew by the Germans occupying their island—boasts a charming, funny, deeply human cast of characters, from pig farmers to phrenologists, literature lovers all.

Juliet begins a remarkable correspondence with the society’s members, learning about their island, their taste in books, and the impact the recent German occupation has had on their lives. Captivated by their stories, she sets sail for Guernsey, and what she finds will change her forever.

Written with warmth and humor as a series of letters, this novel is a celebration of the written word in all its guises, and of finding connection in the most surprising ways.

I am very excited to start this book. My mom said she liked it and it is a #1 New York Times Bestseller so it has to be good right? I am often skeptical about books written as letters and when they change perspectives. But let's hope this isn't like Allegiant where the voices don't change at all so it's hard to remember who is speaking.

If you are new to my Book Club, just know that this is no commitment and you can choose to read with me or not. However, whether or not you join in for this particular book, I recommend joining our Good Reads book club page, found HERE. That way you can always keep up to date with new books and be able to interact with others reading along with us. I highly recommend Good Reads for anyone to help keep track of what books you want to read next.

So join in on my book club this month and don't forget to tweet about it and take your book selfies and use the hashtag #DancingCowBookClub so we can all join in together and see each other's progress! Enjoy!
