A Very Me Outfit

Anyone who knows me well knows that this outfit is very me. The dark colors, heels, leggings, and a skirt. This is one of my most favorite outfits that I own. I've been wearing the same things over and over again for months because I'm not happy with many of the outfits I own. With most of my clothes being from high school and some weight gain, I just want a whole new wardrobe. Except for this outfit.

A Green and Rainy May

I don't mean to sound vain, but I completely love these pictures this week. And it's not vain because I'm mostly obsessed with the picture quality and how beautifully green everything has become. We've been getting a ton of rain, for which I am truly grateful for. I'm in love with rain and it's made everything so green and I just love it!

I know this dress was included in a different post fairly recently (also from a rainy day) but it's honestly one of my favorite dresses at the moment and this is styled differently, much more for spring/summer than for winter like the last time. So I think it's completely reasonable to have it again.

Also my hair was working quite nicely that day so I approve of this post very much. I've been obsessed with curling my hair this way and you can find out how I did it HERE.

I also told Chris (my hubby/photographer) to take more close up shots of my hair. We're working on getting him better at specific shots of the different elements of the outfit and for this post we focused on my hair. While I may have a lot of "fashion" posts, I do still feel very new at this so we're working out what looks best. Thanks for liking what I do regardless. As always, you are the greatest.

Fame or Fortune?

Which is better? Which is best? Which one would you want?
Which one would make you happiest? Which one would you kill for?

Fame or fortune?
Money or popularity?
Love or wealth?

Fortune doesn't bring happiness.
Fortune brings greed and want.
Want for things we don't need.

Fame doesn't bring happiness.
Fame brings selfishness.
The want to always been seen.

Which to choose? Which one is best?
Which one would make me happiest?
Perhaps if I must choose, I'd choose fame.

Fame means people know your name,
People recognize you in the streets,
People want to meet you, see you, stalk you, pretend to love you.

They love the you they see in the press,
Not the you that's at your core.
Not the real person you've worked so hard to become.

So maybe fortune is the better course,
The real answer to a better life.
The choice I should make.

Fortune means you can buy what you want,
Cars, houses, clothes, makeup, and even friends.
People who want you for your money.

They love you because you can buy them things,
Not because of who you really are.
Not the real person you've worked so hard to become.

Will either one give you happiness?
Will either one make you the person you've wanted to be?
Will either one change you for the better?

Fame or fortune?
Fortune or fame?
Which is better? Which is best?

Two Years

November 3rd, 2012, during a picnic on a hill in my favorite park, Chris proposed to me. At the time I didn't think any other event in my life would be as wonderful, as exciting, as magical.

Six months later on May 11th, 2013 we were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Draper, Utah LDS Temple, and began our married life together.

Again, I didn't think any other day of my life would be as magical as the day I made Chris officially mine to love for eternity.

But, time and time again I've been proven wrong.

Everyday with Chris gets better and better. Back on the day we got married I didn't think it was possible to love this boy more, but I'm always proven wrong.

We've been through a lot in our two years of marriage. Moving multiple times, living in Texas, leaving college, switching jobs, minor medical procedures, getting pet fish, losing friends, vacations, and so much more.

We've had trials, we've had fun. We've had arguments that were resolved with laughter. We've done so much to give each other happiness.

I love my Christopher and can't believe we've been together nearly four years when it feels like I've known him my entire life.

Today, on our two year wedding anniversary, I feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful, loving, smart, sexy, brilliant, strong, patient, giving, and handsome husband. I've never loved anyone more and can't imagine spending a single day without him.

He's my best friend and the love of my life.

Happy two year anniversary baby! Here's to an eternity more.

Happy Mother's Day

Hey friends, I just wanted to write a quick post for Mother's Day. And it's very last minute and unplanned so no judging.

I have been so blessed to marry into such a wonderful family, particularly my mother-in-law. I love watching how she interacts with her boys, like they're the most amazing people in the world (and in Chris's case, she's right). She's one of the nicest people I have ever met and I'm so happy I get to call her family. I love you Michelle! Happy Mother's Day!

I owe everything to my mom. I would not be the person I am today without her, I would hardly be able to function without her! She's given me a life where I was free to live my dreams and supports me in every single one of them. To some people it may seem like a small thing, but when I told my parents I was leaving college and they were both incredibly supportive about it, it made me realized how truly blessed I am. I know my parents want the best for me and they're willing to stand behind me when I leave getting an educations because the love me and trust me.

I know that turned into a rant about my mom and dad, but mom, I hope you have the most amazing Mother's Day! You inspire me everyday and if someday I can grow up to be a mother like you then I'll know I've succeeded in life. I love you more than anything!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!
I hope your day is wonderful and you remember how incredibly loved you all are!
