32 Weeks Pregnant | Little Life Stories

I've had your fairly standard pregnancy thus far. You know, get pregnant while living with your parents (awkward), move into a beautiful (albeit at the top of your price range) apartment, are fantastically sick, learn the reason you're so sick is because you're actually pregnant with twins, realize the beautiful third floor apartment you now live in is impractical for both pregnancy and having two babies (so... many... stairs...), your car breaks and you have to purchase a new one (which is a great car, but now you have more monthly bills), impress everyone with the way your morning sickness vanished and you're suddenly doing just fine, surprise everyone with how well babies are doing and how your belly isn't as big as the moon (though your feet begin to swell to the size of the moon), and are still able to participate in summer family vacations and get around just fine.

You know, standard pregnancy.

Until 31 weeks hits you like a ton of bricks and you're suddenly faced with your belly aching because your girls don't have enough room, feeling like your ribs are broken, waking up twice a night to pee and struggling to get out of the bed, barely being able to breathe, feet bigger than King Kong's and hurt with each step, back pain, pelvic pain, stressing over all the things you have to do and/or buy before babies arrive, doctors appointments twice a week taking up your time, and just living with general discomfort and pain.

You know, standard pregnancy.

Today I am 32 weeks pregnant, went to my doctors for one of my twice a week non-stress tests, and told my doctor that I was done. With work. See, I've been working full-time up until this point and while I enjoy my job, and am good at my job, being in the office 40 hours a week is beyond exhausting. I'm up and down out of my seat all day, don't have time to put my giant feet up, and when I get home am too tired to tackle the long list of things I need to do (partially just from all the stairs I have to climb to get home after work).

I can't clean my home after 8 hours of work, which leaves cleaning for the weekend, but my weekends are often too busy with baby or bridal showers, vacations, and other tasks that need to be done. I haven't had a full weekend at home in probably a month, and my apartment shows it.

Chris does so much to help out and typically he's the one doing the cleaning. But that's not always fair. Yes, I'm pregnant, but I'm ridiculously stubborn and hate having people do things for me. I hate admitting I may need help and having Chris do all the work around the house makes me feel like a bad wife and a lazy human being.

And let's not even get into what'll happen after babies come and I will be leaving my job, leaving Chris to be the sole money maker in the home (unless this blog finally starts making me money at some point). I've always been someone who wants to work. Being a mom is a job, but transitioning out of full-time employment in an office to full-time mom duties will definitely be a change for me. But in having twins, it would not be possible for me to continue my job. Trust me, I've looked at it from every angle, this is the best solution for me and my girls.

Anyways, today I got my doctor to write a note saying I can only work 20 hours a week up until my official maternity leave, which is only five weeks away. My boss was super accommodating, he understands my situation and wants what is best for me and my babies (which, reading through pregnancy forums, is actually a rare thing, I'm pretty lucky I work where I do).

Switching to part-time is a huge weight off my shoulders, despite the financial strain this causes. But I believe that things will work out. I've been looking for part-time online positions I can do from home for some extra cash and have been researching on how I can make money through this blog (because over 5 years and not a single cent is pretty sad). But also, from experience, I can say that I blog a lot more when I'm not working. Like today. I'm actually posting something because I didn't have to work. Therefore, working part-time and when babies come, I'm sure I'll have a lot more blog posts for you guys.

This post was mostly me complaining/venting, which John Tesh told me I shouldn't be doing. But I hope you'll forgive me this one time and I'll work on less complaining on this blog in the future.

In summary, being pregnant isn't my favorite and hasn't been easy on me. I'm beyond thrilled for my girls to arrive and to be a mom. They have stayed very healthy through this whole pregnancy and I couldn't be happier about that, but me, personally, I'm falling apart at this point. But I have five weeks left until I'm being induced and I want them to stay in until them to give them the best chance at a healthy delivery and life.

Well, if you've made it to the end of this post, congratulations! Here's your reward: a couple of photos from an impromptu, unofficial maternity shoot from one of my favorite photographers, and my friend, Mariah.

BTW, that dress is too short now because of how big my belly has gotten and these were taken a month ago. I'm growing like crazy! Good for babies, not so good for me personally.

Also, please check out more of Mariah's photos on her Instagram page by CLICKING HERE. She did my sister's engagement photos and they were so gorgeous and she's a Farnes family friend so she's done a lot for us. If you live in Utah, particularly Davis County, check her out. She's amazing.

Lastly, up until recently, this dress has been my go-to for a comfy, cute outfit. Here are some similar dresses, all $50 or less, that I would have also loved.

Summer Wishlist - Maternity Edition | Fashion & Beauty

What is up my friends?! How is the beginning of your summer going? Mine is filled with lots of work. And feeling my little girls kicking, which is super exciting. I'm in the process of redefining and changing up this blog, so slowly you'll see changes. I will be a mother come September/October so my mindset has changed, therefore, this blog will change. But it will still be about all the things that make me happy.

Like clothes.

For today's #FashionFriday I have made my summer clothing wishlist! Now, these are all maternity clothes, so if you're not pregnant, I'm sorry to not cater to you too. Next year you'll get your shot. All of these are shoppable if you click on them and all are under $50 (which is kind of difficult to do, but it's been done).

So enjoy shopping some of my summer maternity favorites!

By clicking and purchasing from the above links you are helping me receive a small commission to go towards my twin girls. Thank you!

My Snow White Skirt | Fashion Friday

OUTFIT DETAILS:
Shirt: Forever 21
Shoes: Ross

Wow, looking at these photos I can't believe I thought I looked fat. Especially now that I'm 14 weeks pregnant with twins and have a real belly now. I took these photos months ago and recently found them on my camera and decided to post them because I am obsessed with this skirt. I got it for Christmas from my mom after she saw me fall in love with it at Kohls. It's part of their Lauren Conrad/Disney Snow White collection. Unfortunately, this skirt is not available anymore. But they do have another super cute one still available and that's the one linked above.

I also just love my hair in these photos. I hope my pregnancy sickness goes away and I can start doing more with my hair again because currently, I'm just too tired and lazy.

Below I've linked some other amazing tulle or tulle-similar skirts (as always, $50 or less) because I grew up in ballet and tulle is like my life. (Did you ever see my wedding dress??) I really want to make a tulle skirt of my own, but I'm just so lazy. I also I'm really hoping at least one of my babies is a girl so I can make them tutus all the time. I'm good at tutus.

Bows

OUTFIT DETAILS

SHIRT:  Store: Ross, Brand: Siren Lily Maternity
SKIRT: Store: ???, Brand: Promesa
SHOES: Store: Ross, Brand: White Mountain

Yay! Fashion Friday! I love this outfit and a wear it a lot. It's a go-to dress up outfit for me because it's actually super comfortable and looks great. Please ignore how pale my legs are. It's winter. Forgive me. Also, it was not warm enough for me to not be wearing no coat or tights, but I sacrifice my warmth for fashion photos. Yep.

Fun fact, this top is a maternity shirt that my mom bought for me back when I was pregnant in 2015. I'm in love with this shirt and it looks great, pregnant or not. So it's a win all the way around. I'm loving my hair in these photos. I'm trying to find more ways to make my hair look naturally wavy, but I can't figure out how without using heat all the time. My hair is so fried.

Anyways, I did take a couple different outfit photos on the same day so my hair and makeup will be the same in the next few #FashionFriday posts, but considering I do the same thing most days anyways it's not too far off from my real life. I'm trying to do weekly outfit posts so we'll see how it goes.

Love this outfit. Love you guys. See you soon!

Christmas Wishlist

Happy Fashion Friday y'all! It's officially after Thanksgiving so we can start thinking about Christmas. Shoutout to all my friends who started putting up their Christmas trees after Halloween, you should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Anyways...

Clothes are always at the top of my wishlists for any gift giving situation. Whether I'm given money, gift cards, or actual clothes, it's probably the smartest gift to give me. So today I'm doing an unconventional Fashion Friday post to show off the clothes I'm wanting at the moment.

I've never really known how to define my style, but recently I've been working on it. These are all items that I think would fit into my current wardrobe while also helping me transition into a new wardrobe. Defining your own style is difficult, but I'm trying my best. Most my inspiration is coming from my Pinterest board.

Feel free to shop from this list as well (Affiliate Links). Like all my fashion posts, the following items are all under $50. (And, you know, you're always welcome to buy these products for me, you know, if you want. Wink wink.)

If you thought my wishlist would be colorful... then you don't know me at all.

Chocolate and Caramel Hair

Yay! First fashion photos with my new hair! It's weird to both love and dislike something at the same time. I love the color, love the cut, but I dislike the fact that I cut off my long hair. I miss my long hair so much! And while the photos from the back make it look long, it's just not the same. Oh well, it's just hair. It'll grow back.

I wanted a photo from the back so you could see all the colors in it. Isn't it beautiful? My cousin Desi is so incredibly talented. I showed her a couple things I liked and she just went with it. If you live in Utah Valley and need a good hairstylist check her out. You can contact me for her personal details through email (thedancingcowblogger@gmail.com).

Fashion Fridays are back. I say that about six times a year, so we'll see how long until I'm saying it again. I have new plans for this blog, though, and making Fashion Friday more important is on the top of my list.

Don't forget to come back to the blog tomorrow at noon for the second part of the latest Heroes & Villains story! And if you haven't started reading Heroes & Villains, you can CLICK HERE to get all caught up.

Crazy Pup

While taking these photos Mr. Zoram Gerrard was running around me like a crazy fool. He loves to run. I wish we had a backyard so he could run and run and we wouldn't have to go chasing after him down the street... because unlike my dog I hate running.

Anyways, I want to apologize for these pictures. Clearly Chris still needs to work on his photography skills. He always cuts off my shoes and never gets details shown. We're working on it.

Also, I like the way my hair looks in these. I feel like the ends look more blond in these photos, even though it's technically red, but it's making me think I should dye the ends blond. I do want to change my hair soon. And cut a few inches off. The length is a bit out of control. I still want it long but it's getting hard to manage.

Look, there's Zoram in the corner, going crazy.

Look at that cute little face! I feel like he "poses" for pictures a lot and does that open mouth smile most times I have a camera out. He's so photogenic.

I may be biased because black is my favorite color, but I think every girl needs a go-to black dress. The above dress is mine. However it's so old I don't remember where it's even from! So below are a bunch of awesome black dresses, all under $50, that you can buy... or I can buy... I want them all!!

Daycation in Pineview, Utah

Last Friday Chris and I spent most our time at Pineview Reservoir. We swam, ate wonderful food, and did a lot of searching for Pokemon. I forgot to take pictures the second day we were there, with  jet ski and paddle boards, but here are the pictures I did take from our "daycation."

A Classy 4th of July Outfit

I love the 4th of July!! I have quite a few outfit posts that are red, white, and blue, and here I am just adding another. But this one is much classier, it's a dress.

I've posted this dress before but it really is a favorite and reminds me of my wedding, so I'll probably never let it go. It's like getting to wear my wedding dress without having to deal with the massiveness of my actual wedding dress... but I wish I could wear that dress all the time.

I'm sure I'll have another post about something on the 4th of July, but if you only read my fashion posts then I wish you a very happy and safe Independence Day!!

I'm A Trickster

Sometimes I like to trick my work into thinking I'm wearing nice clothes. All you need is to make your hair look nice and then a cardigan, loose comfy tee, stretchy skirt, and comfortable pair of heels looks like you're work appropriate... when really you feel like you're wearing sweats. It's a win-win in my opinion.

Beneath these photos I'll have some other awesome clothing items that look nice, but secretly are just for comfort... all under $50. And I have nothing else to say, so have a lovely day!!

It's Windy On Top Of Cache Valley

I have some terrible photos coming your way!!

So we took these photos at Morty's on their top balcony. Morty's is an amazing burger place. It's on campus and it's all unique and healthy so it's where all the hipster college students hang out, but luckily for us it's now summer, so Cache Valley's supply of hipster college students has depleted.

If you live near the USU campus I highly recommend checking out this place. This trip I had their Sunny Side burger which included a fried egg. It was delicious. They also have amazing French fries... and if you know me I can't resist French fries. But they also have scone fries, which are basically just scones in a dippable format, it's delicious. And another bonus, if you're a fan of the Dole Whips from Disneyland like my husband is, they have them there!! This restaurant is just a big win.

I am obsessed with my shirt in these pictures as well as this jacket. This jacket is old, I got it before I got married, but it's still great and I never want to let it go! The pictures aren't great though because it was cold and windy and we just wanted to go back inside, but the view was amazing!
