Spring Is For Flowers

This shirt I got out of the plus size section. I saw it and fell in love so I tried it on and decided I could get away with wearing it. But I'll be honest, there was a moment of fear and regret that I was potentially taking such a cute shirt away from someone who would fit into it better than I do. I genuinely feel bad if I think about it too much. 

Also to all of those people out there (mainly my coworkers) who haven't noticed I dyed my hair red... can you tell now? 

I really want Fashion Fridays to be a thing. Something that stays. So I'm going to do my best to keep up with these types of posts every Friday, but please don't be expecting one every week, we all know it won't happen. 

It's Springtime now! I love Spring! The weather isn't too cold, it has been super rainy though. It rained most of the day I took these pictures, I was lucky to get out at a dry moment, but it was rather chilly. I love this season. I love that it means flowers are here. So I love wearing my new favorite shirt with the floral details!

New Years is on it's way, can you believe it's almost 2014?? I love the simple-ness of this craft! I'm also in love with glitter. This could also be done for other types of candles. Like a leaf for November or mistletoe for Christmas.

4. I love black olives. I eat them by the can. 
5. I love my husband very very much.

My Valentines Day 2013

I found the idea for Chris's birthday present on Pinterest, but really I could have thought of it myself.

So I made this box as pink and girly as I could, because that's what Valentine's Day reminds me of. I just covered a Vans shoebox with scrapbook paper. It looked really good!

On the inside I had a ton of paper hearts that had reasons why I love him. I also threw in a finger soccer game, which is really funny because it gives you mini cleats for your fingers. Chris loved his gift and I'm happy I made it all myself. :)

Chris gave me balloons and flowers!!!

White daisies are my favorite flower and I love the red flowers that were in there too! I also love balloons! Getting balloons just makes me happy!! He also gave me a necklace with my birthstone that matches the earrings he gave me for my birthday!

Jerrick's Fine Jewelry is good to us. It's where he got my matching necklace and earrings and my engagement ring. Chris likes them a lot. When he went in last week looking for a Valentines gift for me they remembered him and they remembered my birthstone from my birthday earrings.

If that wasn't enough, we went out for a lovely dinner at Chili's (because Logan doesn't have very many fancy restaurants) and had the most amazing dessert! Then he surprised me with tickets to go see Safe Haven. Which was pretty good. I've always liked Julianne Hough (she graduated from Alta High School like me!!) and Josh Duhamel (because he's amazing looking). My favorite part was when all the girls in my theater gasped because this guy was hiding in the shadows. It was the funniest thing ever because it was so obvious he was there!

It was a wonderful Valentine's Day! :)

My Wedding Plans

So anyone who knows me or reads this blog regularly knows that I'm engaged. I'm getting married May 11th, exactly 3 months from today! And I am super excited!!! People kept telling me how stressful planning a wedding is and not to freak out too much, but I'm loving every second of it! I love planning my wedding!! I love weddings! That's why I have another blog dedicated to weddings!

So since I've really been doing nothing with my life besides work and wedding plans, I'm going to share a few things about my wedding with you!

So Chris and I are getting married in the Draper, Utah LDS Temple. It's so beautiful!! I actually was blessed with the opportunity to sing at the temple dedication (because I live nearby). It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and really made the Draper Temple extra special to me. I'm so glad that my wonderful fiance agreed to get married there even though he's from Kaysville and rather fond of the Bountiful Temple.

I'm picking anemones as my wedding flower. Because I wanted to make things more difficult. Just kidding! But really, most floral places in Utah do not offer anemones. We're getting them through a website, Whole Blossoms. We haven't ordered them yet so if you've had some traumatic experience with them, you should let me know before I buy them. I just really want anemones because they fit my wedding colors perfectly (black, white, and red) and they are just so beautiful! But if they don't work out, I'll get gerbera daisies, the white ones with black centers, because they look similar and I love daisies!

I really wish I could show you all how beautiful my dress is, but my fiance reads this blog and he's not allowed to see my dress yet. But I got it at Bridal Expressions in Sandy, Utah. I loved their service and their selection. You can read a review about them here.

We're having Italian sodas at my wedding. Chris and I love Zupas! It's so wonderful! So next to their soda machine is a bunch of Italian soda syrup pumps, and that's what we want. We're going to have Sprite (or something similar) and then the syrup pumps. My favorite is raspberry and blackberry mixed! Yummy! We're still looking for where to buy our soda syrups, but I think we're leaning towards Torani.

Hmm... what other fun stuff should you know? ... I still don't have a cake. But I do know what I want the cake to look like and taste like, so it's just a matter of finding someone to make it for a reasonable price. I thought I found a good place but it wasn't the place that my mom's friend told us to go to so we're looking again.

I have an invitation place! Beautiful Wedding Announcements. In Riverton. They are excellent! I don't meet with them till March but they've sent me sample packets and I already won 250 free thank you cards with them. So they will be really good for us.

Chris and I agree on a lot of the wedding plans! That or he just pretends to agree with everything I say, which I find wonderful! He's been great in helping out! I just love him so much!

I'm super excited for my honeymoon because I'm going to DISNEYLAND!!! We still have things to finalize. We may be driving and stopping in Vegas for two days or we're flying straight to California and spending more time at Disneyland and the beach. We still don't know yet but I'm so excited anyways! We are also spending our wedding night at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. I'm so happy about that because it's my favorite hotel. Something about it just makes me happy. It's such a beautiful building!

What else can I tell you about my wedding...? I'M SO EXCITED!!! In three months I get to marry my best friend and then we get to live with each other and be with each other forever! This long distance relationship is getting harder and harder everyday, but it's only three months till we're always together! :)

Month of Gratitude: Day 6

Today I am most grateful for the beauty of flowers. I seriously love flowers. I think that they are gorgeous and they just make me happy! So today, when touring a reception center, the greenery and flowers really persuaded me. They were so beautiful!

But maybe with a red ribbon around them. Sigh... so beautiful! But I'm not sure where or if I can find these in Utah. But my hunt for flowers hasn't begun yet.

Are Your Wedding Flowers In Season?

Fake Flowers

I love flowers! I find them beautiful and incredible! My Christopher surprised me with some flowers last week and they were bright and colorful and beautiful! Flowers help create a mood at a wedding reception. When I go to a wedding reception with tons of flowers, there is just a romantic feeling around the room (or outside). But one thing I've found to be very different, yet still just as perfect, are fake flowers. I'm not talking about real fake flowers with wax stems and made out of fabric. I'm talking about the creative type of fake flowers. Here's some photos to show what I'm talking about....

I love all these different ideas! Something fun about it is that you can get colors that you can't with real flowers. Sure it may take time to craft something like this, but it might be cheaper, most of them are just paper. I love the beaded one though. I've had that picture on my Pinterest for a long time. I think it's gorgeous, and even more, I am in love with that dress. It's quite possibly my dream dress, if only I could see the whole thing.

Musings of a Want-to-be Wedding Planner

I feel that everyone is planning their own weddings lately. That there's really no reason to pay for a wedding planner. Yet despite this fact, I want to be a wedding planner. So if you're interested, please feel free to email me or post on this blog.

To further the need for a wedding planner... this blog is for me to post all these little creative ideas for wedding planning. Most are crafts, I'll post photos of wedding dresses and rings, cakes, exercises to lose those last few pounds, and then I'll write what I feel would be a beautiful wedding to go along with all of it (see, you could steal your entire wedding off the posts on here).

In reality, as a wedding planner I think my job would to organize ideas and make them happen. Some people have thousands of ideas for what they want in their wedding, but not all the ideas mesh together very well. So if you want someone to help organize your thoughts, let me know. If not, steal ideas from my blog. Most likely I found it off Pinterest anyways. Enjoy!
