Bridal Fairs!

It's Bridal Fair season in Utah! I attended one this Saturday with my mom and sister and we had a lot of fun together. It was crazy when I was there because everyone would ask my date (May 11th) and then tell me "oh my gosh that's so soon!" Because it doesn't seem soon enough to me! But we still have lots to do and plan, so that's alright.

I sincerely apologize for not informing you of the bridal fair last Saturday. As the writer of this blog, that's like my job. So I am sorry. However, here's a list of many more bridal fairs coming up!

Saturday January 12th, 2013 is the Utah Wedding Expo at the Thanksgiving Point Show Barn in Lehi. From 10AM to 6PM. More information can be found here.

Saturday January 19th, 2013 is the Salt Lake Premier Wedding Show at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and the Lion House in Salt Lake City. From 10AM to 4PM. Information found here.

Also Saturday January 19th, 2013 is the Winter Bridal Extravaganza at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Information found here.

Friday January 25th and Saturday January 26th, 2013 is the Bridal Showcase at the South Town Expo Center in Sandy. Information found here.

That covers January for bridal fairs in the Salt Lake valley. If you click on the links above, most of the shows have their brides pre-register to attend. It enters you into drawings for prizes and sometimes gives you a discounted ticket price! It's really simple to pre-register. Just click on the links above.

Utah Weddings

I've been to two bridal fairs in Logan, Utah. From the last one I went to I picked up a book (type thing) courtesy of Utah Weddings, or http://www.utahweddings.com/. The book looks a little something like this:

I started looking through this book again last night... it's like the bible of wedding planning. It's amazing! It has a planner, tips, secrets, and ads for everything in Utah that you may need. It's really quite genius. I'm excited to start using it!

Now there are lots of different bridal fairs and shows. They are all different. Different locations mean different vendors. At the Logan ones I went to, almost everything was based in Cache Valley, which didn't really work for me since my wedding is based in the Salt Lake Valley. So since I don't know my reader base, I'm going to share with you websites for other bridal shows, and you can pick when and where you can go.

Creative Invitations

So again, Pinterest has got me interested in creative invitations lately. Basically since I graduated high school I started keeping my friend's invitations to help me find what I like and don't like (and I've seen many that I don't like, but that's for another day). So this post has none of my friend's invitations (to protect their privacy) but is all stuff I've found online.

So this is a fun one. It's kind of a chaos of words, but I think that's what makes it so cool! It has all the details necessary for an invitation and a bunch of cute little pictures. Since this picture was found online I can't be sure, but I'm thinking this invitation defines the personality of the couple. I highly recommend using an invitation that helps define you and your fiance. 

This one is a Save-the-Date, but it's adorable! It shows the date of the wedding, shows the couple in a way that shows their personalities. This couple is adorable. 

I really like this one because while it has many different parts to it, all are connected with the image of the heart. It's a rustic, simple type of invitation, but sometimes a lot of images or colors is too much.

I love this one because of all the colors (that I'm assuming are the couple's theme colors). Their picture matches the invitation perfectly and everything is connected through the colors. 

This is a very cute DIY envelope that can be found here: http://thediybride2010.blogspot.com/2010/01/envelope-liners-check.html. This is a wonderful idea! When you're getting married, it's great to show of how happy the couple is, and by adding something like this to your invitation, the receiver of the invitation will know exactly how much you love each other. 

This is one of my favorite Save-the-Date ideas. Sometimes I'll have an invitation for a wedding but forget the date and forget to make the necessary plans to go. This is fantastic because the sticker will help you remember exactly when it is so you can make plans to go!

Wedding Planner

Brunettes

I'm a very happy and proud brunette, and I love it! I also love hair and doing hair, specifically my own hair, but I have no objections to doing other people's hair. Here are some cute hair styles that are shown on brunette hair (although they could easily be done with any hair type or color)....

So pretty!! I just love hair! Eventually I'll move on to other hair colors, but to be honest, I don't have very many pictures of other hair colors simply because I'm a brunette. Sorry about the Selena Gomez photos, but seriously I'm in love with her and her hair. In high school I always modeled my haircuts after hers. Only problem was her hair is much thicker than mine. I believe (but am not positive) that if you click on the pictures it will take you to my Pinterest page where it can then take you to a tutorial on how to do the hairstyle. Also, if you are in the Orem area, I have a cousin there who is a hairstylist, and she's amazing! I don't trust anyone but her to dye my hair. She always does a fabulous job. she also does more that just hair; she will do waxing and tanning as well. I had her wax my underarms once and while incredibly painful, she did a great job.
