Thank You

So I don't have anything exciting to write today. I have a lot of homework I need to focus on and I have quite a bit of reading to get done (for school and for my Book Club) so this post is going to be short and basically about nothing. You can stop reading now if you'd like.

On September 7th I celebrated reaching 20,000 page views and I was so happy. Unbelievably happy!! It felt like such an amazing accomplishment for me and I was so proud of myself, and I was so happy that people, like you, enjoyed reading my blog!!

Now, only nineteen days later:

I cannot thank my readers enough for all the love and support that you continually bring me!! I love writing on this blog and I'm so glad that you enjoy it too!!

Don't forget to continually leave comments and emails with suggestions, questions, comments, stories, poetry, song lyrics, your own life story... I don't care, I just love to hear from my readers!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

As a side note, I'm officially thanking you with a Giveaway, I'm writing about it tomorrow, but if you've been reading this post and click on the link now, you can find the giveaway is already open for entries today! Don't forget to enter!! :)

Links to Music, Click Away!

It's Thursday! Thursdays are cool. I guess. I have only one real class and then a ballroom class. My real class is an introduction to elementary education because guess what... I might be changing my major again! I started out as a print journalism major now I'm in English teaching/secondary education, but I'm thinking of going into elementary education and teaching kindergarten or first grade. And because of this, I'm stressing myself out too much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm having a bad day. This week has been absolutely awful. I keep having the panic/anxiety attacks where I can't breathe, I've been constantly tired and depressed, I've cried like three times this week, some kid called me a loser for being a custodian (yes, it really happened, it was like out of the Smash Mouth song, "(S)he was looking kind of dumb with (her)his finger and (her)his thumb in the shape of an 'L' on (her)his forehead", it really happened, I'm pretty sure no one has done that since this song came out), I have an essay due and an oral presentation next week (and it's only the second week of school), and I don't know what I'm doing with my life anymore. Good times.

This post is honestly about nothing. It's just an update at where I'm at. I do want to say that I love my husband more than anything in the world! He is so supportive of me as I'm trying to figure out what to major in, he surprises me with yummy food, he tell's me he'll beat up that kid that called me a loser, and he always always is able to make me happy again. I love you Christopher!!!

And I just want to say one last thing, to the kid that called me a loser, I don't see how cleaning carpets and making money to support my husband and myself qualifies me for being a loser. But I am sorry that you feel working people are losers. Because in my opinion, it's the people who don't work for their own money that are losers. Your little stunt there was just plain stupid and you were in a university, at least try to act mature. Honestly, dumbest thing that's happened to me... like ever.

P.S. There are a lot of links on this page! They are all song!! Yay!! Check them out!!!

August Favorites

I'm recently addicted to Meghan Rosette videos on Youtube. Every month she makes a video of all her monthly favorites. I'm going to try to do that on my blog! So this is the first month of that and I hope you like it! If not, just don't read it.

FAVORITE SNACK: Great Value Fruit Smiles!

My husband was just getting mad at me because he found like ten wrappers for the fruit smiles around our living room (which inspired this whole post, and shows that I'm no good at throwing away my wrappers... sorry mom!). They are just so yummy and the most simple snack there is! I love them so much!

FAVORITE MAKEUP PRODUCT: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

I'm going to be talking more about this in tomorrow's post, but just know that I love it. I've only been using it a week, but it's been fantastic for me. More on it tomorrow...

FAVORITE MOVIE: Beautiful Creatures

I know this movie came out a while ago, but Chris and I saw it for the first time this weekend. We rented it on Redbox and didn't return it for a few days because I just kept wanting to watch it! I just love it so much! This next month for my book club we're going to be reading this book, because I really want to read it because of how much I love the movie. :)

FAVORITE BLOG: Lauren Conrad

I love reading blogs so so much! And I love supporting bloggers by sharing them on my blog. Lately I've been inspired by Lauren Conrad's blog found HERE. It inspired me to pick The Fame Game for my book club this month. But I love her blog, definitely check it out!

FAVORITE EVENT: Fiddler on the Roof

This month I got to see Fiddler on the Roof at the Ellen Eccles Theater in Logan. It was so much fun! I've always loved the movie and it was so great to see it live! They did a great job. But they did have all the lyrics to the songs displayed on a projector and that was really weird, but other than that, the production was fantastic!

FAVORITE SONG: Radioactive by Imagine Dragons

This song is just amazing and I listen to it constantly and never get sick of it. But I don't understand the music video... If you get it, please leave a comment below.

FAVORITE WEBSITE: Mint.com

If you haven't already, I highly recommend creating an account there. It monitors all our bank accounts and loans, it notifies us of any problems, it's just perfect. It's wonderfully useful and I think everyone with a bank account should make an account.

FAVORITE HAIR PRODUCT: Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray

I straighten my hair a lot and use heat on it a lot. I've only been using this a week, so this isn't an official review, but I have been enjoying it and it smells pretty good.

These are my August favorites! If you have any questions, comments or suggestions of new products for me to use or review, please leave a comment or send me an email. :) Thanks for reading!

HAPPY ONE YEAR!!!

HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO MY BLOG!!!

In honor of the one year anniversary of my blog (which was technically last week), I'm going to share my top ten favorite posts I've written on this blog (from oldest to newest)! Enjoy!!

I love this post because it was the very first one. It's really random, but it started the whole thing so I love it.

I love Demi Lovato and in this post I really started to let you all into my personal life and my past so I've always loved this post. (I apologize that some of the pictures don't show up correctly)

This post was written before I was even engaged, and now I'm married. It's just a really important post to me and I just really like this one.

This one makes me laugh because I was so excited to reach 1000 page views. Now I'm at 18,456 page views and I just keep getting more every day. I'm so thankful for this blog and it's humbling to look back at where it all started and how I got to this point.

I absolutely loved working in the daycare. It was my favorite think in the world and my most favorite job I've ever had. We had crazy moments and hectic days, but it didn't matter. I loved that job because it was so much fun working with those kids. (I'm currently stressing out and considering switching my major so I can teach kindergarten, and writing this only makes me want to change my major more...) I also really like this post HERE or HERE, they are both related and I would love for you to check them out, but they don't need to be included in this list.

Best post ever. Being engaged was so much fun! Getting proposed to was the greatest thing ever! It's so great to look back at a post like this and remember how I felt and how excited I was. (PS, being married is better than all of that, I love my husband!!)

I hope to always put up a New Year Resolution post, but this one is the first, so it's special to me.

I wanted to start branching out my viewership and posting things about different topics that more and more people would enjoy. Everything has changed now, but this was the start.

This is an organization that is very important to me and that I love, so this post is important to me.

I wrote this today actually, but I love it because it explains everything. This blog is my journal, I leave out the most personal stuff, but I share a lot with all my readers, and I love doing it! I love writing on this blog! It's weird, it's not the best blog in the world, but I love it and I will never stop writing because this is what makes me happy.

I'd also have to say I loved when I won the Liebster Award, when I started Pinterest Sundays, when I wrote about my favorite fictional couples, the things I learned from being married for three weeks, when I wrote about my honeymoon, and how I write a lot about cows

I'm so grateful for this blog, I can't believe it's been a year already!! I absolutely love writing on this blog and I promise you, this is just the beginning of something great. There are always changes and additions to this blog, because I want to keep my readers entertained.

If there is anything you want me to write about, let me know! If you want me to review a product for you: email me, I'd be happy to! If you want to be a guest blogger, I'd absolutely love to have you do it! If you want to be featured on my blog (through Web Video Wednesday, Song of the Week Saturday, or other posts), please contact me and I'll gladly write about you on my blog!

Don't forget to join my book club, #dancingcowbookclub. Don't forget to leave comments and send emails! I respond to each and every one so please don't hesitate to ask questions or tell me a story, I'll love to hear it!

Why I Write on This Blog

Yesterday I wrote a post about this week and the hard times I've been going through. It was fairly long, no pictures, pretty depressing, and looking back it reminded me slightly of this picture that all over Pinterest lately:

Yes, I realize yesterday's post is one that won't be the top rated post on my blog. And yes, I know that it's annoying sometimes to have someone vent all their problems to you.

But guess what!!

I don't write on this blog to please the world, I write on it to make myself feel better. I've always been one find joy in writing. When I was upset or feeling depressed I would write poems or stories or write in my journal. This blog is basically a public, censored journal of my life. Because that's what makes me happy. I write this blog for me.

Don't get me wrong, I love all my readers! I honestly do. I love all your support and your comments (especially the girl who commented on yesterday's post, that totally made my day) and I love seeing my page views go up. But I am writing this blog for me.

I love this blog and I put a lot of effort into it and I hope you love it too. I know it has flaws, I know I make some grammar errors (I'm seriously the worst English major ever), I know some posts aren't that exciting to the rest of the world but in the end, this blog is for me and what I like.

I love you guys!! You help encourage me to keep this blog going!! You're the best!!

Jobs

So yesterday and today have been kind of crazy. Yesterday I woke up and went off to a job interview. At the interview they told me I was hired and sent me to a clinic to be drug tested. Today they called me up and told me when to come in for training. This is to be an alternate crossing guard.

I think being a crossing guard sounds fun! I'm always drawn to service oriented jobs, that's why I love working in daycares and want to be a teacher, because those things don't feel like work, it just feels like service, and I love that. I think working as a crossing guard will just feel like service as well. So I'm excited. I wish it was a full time position and I could do it everyday, but I'll take what I can get.

(I still haven't heard back from a dance teaching position that I would love. It fits perfectly into my schedule and I've been wanting to teach dance for so so long, I really really want this job!)

Today I got a phone call from my old boss from working as a custodian in the student center. I worked there for three year and had a really great time. I loved my boss, still do, she called me today and we're on great speaking terms, and she offered me my job back.

Honestly I have mixed feelings. I did love that job. It was a great job as a student (which I still am) it fits perfectly into my schedule and it pays enough to pay the majority of our rent. But I kind of wanted something new. I have nothing against custodial work, I enjoyed it and I wish more people would realize the things that we do to make a building look good, but I wanted a new experience.

I took my job back because while I wanted something new, I have been searching for the past three months and have applied for so many jobs (seriously, I applied for at least one job a day, usually more, you do the math) and after three months I had nothing to show for it, and only three interviews for the whole three months.

I'm not "settling" for my custodial job back, I've happy to go back! I really truly am. I just wish that in my three months of job searching someone else would have wanted me to work for them. I love working, I absolutely hate unemployment and the past three months have been filled with stress and depression because I felt like a total failure for not finding a job or getting any interviews.

Everyone kept asking me about it and constantly adding more pressure. "Why don't you have a job yet?" "Have you applied for this job yet?" "Maybe you aren't trying hard enough." "My job in Salt Lake would hire you." "You should try for this job." "You aren't doing enough, that's why you don't have a job yet."

It was so hard going through these past three months of unemployment. I hated it. My husband was always able to make me happy again temporarily, but when he went off to work it would just remind me that I didn't have anywhere to go. And from just moving back to Logan, I didn't have any friends to turn to either. The past three months have been absolutely horrible.

I am so excited that I get to start working again on Monday! It's even better because she called me, I didn't need an interview, I don't have to go through training, I know the job, I know the boss, and she sounded absolutely thrilled to have me come back, which is exactly the work environment I want to be in.

I'm excited to have a job again! I'm so so excited and I hope that everyone else can be excited for me too! :)

The Days of the Week

Ha ha... I'm just laughing at the title of this post...

Anyways, so to motivate myself to write more I'm giving specific blog posts to specific days of the week. Yes, I will still be writing the random stuff that pops into my brain whenever I feel like it, but I will also have these specifics that I will do my very best to write everyday (but I would like everyone to keep in mind that this blog is not my full-time job, I'm a student and a wife and looking for a part-time job, so if I miss a day, forgive me). So here are the categories:

Motivation Mondays

I absolutely love quotes and song lyrics, so every Monday I'm going to put up a motivational quote or song to help us all start off our weeks in a good mood. Monday's can be hard, and hopefully these quotes will help!

Happy Tuesdays

Happy Tuesday was the holiday that my friends and I created in high school. It was the day my best friend and I would always make sure to do something special together. On Tuesdays on this blog I'm just going to share a happy story or something, I'm still not entirely sure. What I do know is that I've always loved Tuesdays, because I made them a holiday, and my goal is to make you love Tuesdays too!

Web Video Wednesday

This is already a thing on my blog! I hope you've been enjoying them. They are simple posts, but I just think they're fun and they let my blog have a greater variety of subjects. (Also, if you have a web video that you would like to be featured on my blog, leave a comment or send me an email!!)

Anything Goes Thursdays

Thursdays will be about whatever I want. Or whatever you want! I'm always open to comments and suggestions and I would love to hear about what you would like to see on this blog! So leave me a comment or send me an email and I'll gladly fill your requests on Thursdays (or maybe another day if I have time). However, I think the main focus I want for Thursdays is date night ideas. But since my husband and I are too poor to do anything fun... we don't... so we'll see how that goes.

Fashion Fridays

I used to do a segment on here called Outfits of the Week. But I really struggled with that and I'm pretty sure it only lasted two weeks. Fashion Fridays will be similar though. I'll be sharing some of the outfits I had worn in the past week, or clothes I've bought or an outfit I saw online that I'm in love with (Fred Rongo, prepare to dominate my Friday posts). Also, I already have a "In My Closet" tab at the top of my blog, this will still exist and show off any shopping trips or new additions to my closet. But these two are very similar. Also, keep in mind that I am not a fashion "guru" or expert in anyway. I'll be just be sharing what I wear and what I like. Please don't take my fashion sense as fashion "law".

Song of the Week Saturdays

I'm pretty much obsessed with music so every Saturday I'll be sharing the song that's been on my mind all week. It might be old, it might be new, it might be a song you've never heard of before in your life, it could be from a Disney movie, it could be anything! But I think I'm most excited for this new segment... it's the least work on my part. :)

Pinterest Sundays

Again, already a thing. But I've come to find that this is one of my favorite type of blog posts (and it's fairly popular) because I really get to share my likes with you and it's just fun! Also, I'm going to try to continue my Sunday Meals posts, but I've really been slacking on that lately and we don't have the money to make the meals that I want (we usually just eat the fish that Chris catches, but it is good so I'll share how he cooks it soon), so they may appear every now and then at random.

__________________________________________________________________

So all of these will be linked up together and there will be a new tab at the top entitled "Days of the Week" (because I think it sounds so silly/lame) where all these blog posts can be found. You can also find them by clicking on the links under "Categories" on the left side, but there are like a billion so sometime it's hard to navigate your way through there (good luck) so I might just stick to clicking on the tab at the top.

Well, I hope you enjoy what coming up with this blog! I suppose this post counts as my "Anything Goes Thursday" post. Yay, done with that!

PS: Don't be hating that Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday things aren't alliterations. I like them the way they are and I'm not going to change it. :)
