Fashion Fridays: Back to School

I know I'm not the only one that reserves my best outfits, and the most time and energy into looking great for back to school. Whether you're in high school, college, elementary, whatever, it's always a good idea to look good for back to school, because in most cases, it's a way to make a great first impression. You'll always meet new people the first day of school, so it's good to look your best.

Below are tons of outfit ideas as well as hair and makeup tutorials (sorry boys, this post is catered to girls).

This outfit is incredibly simple! Just jeans, a white T-shirt and a scarf! So easy to pull together even if you don't have money to buy new school clothes. I personally would substitute the heels though, while I love heels, walking all over campus in heels is not my favorite.

This is similar, but brighter and more summery. In Utah, we have to wear out our summer clothes as long as we can, because as the fall/winter season starts, you'll be in coats for months.

Another incredibly simple outfit. If you're going to wear just a white T-shirt and leggings, make sure you add an accent color with shoes or jewelry.

I'm a huge fan of the basics. I love this outfit because it's so simple, but can still look really good if everything fits properly.

This shirt would be great for back to school! It's simple and casual but it has a fun flirty twist.

I love everything about this outfit. It's simple, it's adorable and I'm in love with that bag.

I'm obviously sticking with the simple stuff in this post (because I have no money to spend on clothes so I assume no one else has money either). This outfit is really pulled together by such a cute cardigan! Without the cardigan, the outfit would look frumpy.

I'm a huge fan of cardigans (obviously) but my favorite piece in this picture is the adorable flowered tank top! It's super cute with the ruffles and very flirty and fun.

This is more dressy, but still in a very casual way. I love ballet flats and these ones would be a perfect neutral for many outfits. The skirt on this is adorable!

I'm not brave enough to own white pants, but this outfit is super cute and would be a great back to school outfit! Also a good date outfit.

Yay maxi skirts! This is for when you get too tired to shave your legs. ;)

This is one of my favorites. The shoes and shirt are perfect and I'm in love.

I love this shirt so much! If anyone knows where I can get it, please let me know!

This is a total summer outfit! I still consider August summer, so don't be afraid to rock shorts in class.

This dress is perfection. It's so pretty!

I love everything about this outfit! It's a bit more fall than summer, but it would be great for back to school and transitioning into fall.

This skirt is adorable in every way! I want one! The DIY can be found HERE

This project is a little intense, it can be found HERE. If you're up for the challenge, I'd love to see how yours turned out! Leave a comment below if you attempt this DIY.

This is one of my favorite outfits ever. I love this skirt so much!

This is one of the few I can actually attempt. I have that exact shirt and similar pants in red. This picture is from one of my favorite fashion blogs, Fred Rongo

This outfit just screams back to school to me. It's summery and casual but is also very dressed up looking.

I love this tank top. I NEED this tank top.

I love the brightness of this shirt and the color combinations. It's a perfect summer/back to school look.

Last year this girl I know wore like this exact outfit on her first day of college. I think it's cute and fun. The shoes are fantastic! ...but I personally wouldn't wear them to school (too many hills on campus!).

This is so cute in every way! It's just the perfect outfit.

This is incredibly summery but will also work for back to school.

A dress like this is perfect for school because it's super cute, but also looks comfortable.

All these outfits are from my Pinterest page found HERE. All credit goes to the original "pinner", none of these are my own photos and I do not take ownership for them.

This is the end of outfits. Whew! That was a ton! But there's still more. Here are some of my favorite hair and makeup tutorials that are perfect for back to school!

Obviously I love Meghan Rosette and Zoella... yeah...

Well I hope you enjoyed this very long post and I hope it's helpful to you as you head back to school! Remember to be yourself this year and to never sacrifice who you really are just to be popular or make friends. I hope you all have a wonderful school year! I know I'm excited/anxious for school to start, I have a feeling this is going to be a great year!

Please leave comments and let me know about your favorite back to school looks!

  1. I'm in love with that bag too on the 6th outfit down! This is why I don't look at fashion on Pinterest, no money :( And this is probably a silly question but have you ever shopped at Plato's Closet? You need to.

    1. I don't go to Plato's Closet that often, I was mad they wouldn't buy my huge bag of clothes from me. But when I do go I always find something I love, so I really should get over them not buying my clothes. Ha ha.

    2. Also, I tried doing outfits on here that I might actually be able to buy. Near the end it went away from that, but the first few are totally doable on a budget! :)

  2. These are such cute outfits, Kaylee! Even though I'm not going back to school, I can definitely still look to these for everyday inspiration. Haha. Thanks for sharing!!

And P.S. you're totally fine about the payment for the invitations! I completely understand money being tight, story of my life! Haha. You're so, so welcome! :)

This is the only thing that I could find on the nautical color block shirt! It was posted on etsy.com, but it's now sold out or unavailable!
