Haunted Movie Trailers!!

TEN DAYS TILL HALLOWEEN!!!

I love Halloween, but I hate haunted things. I cannot watch horror movies without having a heart attack. I avoid them at all costs, and my husband knows that. I once went to a haunted house and thought I was going to die. This guy took me on a date to a haunted corn maze and I was leaning on his arm the whole time and keeping my eyes closed (stupid kid, he totally did that on purpose).

People don't understand why I would love Halloween but hate haunted things, but for me Halloween isn't about scary things, it's about fun and dressing up in costumes. As a kid it was about Trick-or-Treating and now as a married "grown-up" it's about decorating the house, carving pumpkins, and the two year anniversary of my first kiss with my husband.

Anyways, I don't like scary things, but I love these haunted movie trailers! They are cute movies turned into horror movie trailers! They are a little creepy but they are funny if you've seen the actual movie. I hope you enjoy possibly the scariest thing I'll ever put on my blog.

Mary Poppins

Mrs. Doubtfire

School of Rock

The Notebook

Web Video Wednesday: Merida in Clay

My husband is in love with the movie Brave. I still don't completely understand it. He did serve his mission in Scotland, and has a great love of the place (he wants us to move there someday) but I don't understand why Brave is such a great movie. I think the other Pixar movies are better. But Brave is his favorite. And we've seen it like five times since getting married.

So we watched it a few days ago so it's kind of in my head and while exploring Youtube I found this video about this adorable Italian girl who makes the Disney princesses out of clay. She is incredibly talented and you should definitely check her out! You can find her Youtube channel HERE and here's the video of her making Merida from Brave!

I also like the piano versions of the actual songs from the movie! I also watched the Rupunzel one and it was good too. This girl is very talented! I could never do this in my life.

Pinterest Sundays: Smart, Baby Cows, Living Room, Bookcase, Books to Movies, Blue Umbrella, School, and Clothes

I apologize in advance, this one has a lot. :)

I loved reading through this. It's so true that in our Mormon culture we feel completely worthless if something happens. I love Elizabeth Smart and feel she is a real inspiration to not on LDS members, but to the world. You can find the story HERE

Last October-ish, before I was even engaged, my mom and I saw an adorable cow costume for babies. My mom got all excited and told me I needed to get it for my children. I informed her (though it was completely obvious) that I had no children and I wasn't going to buy baby costumes when I wasn't even engaged. I'm now married, but I'm still not getting one till I'm pregnant.... but yes, all my kids will be wear a cow costume at some point in their lives.

I absolutely love this!!! I really want to make curtains for our living room (when I have money again) and I want them similar to this. And actually, that desk thing would look really good as well. When we are financially stable, I'm modeling our living room after this picture.

I would love one of these in our little bathroom. Because it's open on two sides, it wouldn't feel crowded in there. I also need something by my bed, and this would be good for that too.

14 Books to Read Before They Hit The Big Screen. I have been wanting to read Divergent, but this list has other interesting books I'll have to check out as well.

One of my favorite things in the world are Pixar Shorts. If you haven't seen Monsters University yet, you probably haven't seen The Blue Umbrella. I loved it. It was super cute!

27 Ways to Have the Healthiest School Year Ever. I am super excited for school to start this month!!!! I'm going crazy just waiting for the USU semester to start! I really like this article and the tips that it has. Hopefully I can keep on track this semester and everything will go smoothly.

I absolutely love everything about this outfit!!! I love the shoes so much! I'm really sick of the clothes in my closet and want to replace the majority of them, but, again, I have no money. So that will have to wait. But I have a large board of clothes to buy on Pinterest when I finally get the money. :)

Pinterest Sundays: Money, Dance, Lizzie McGuire, Walt Disney and Pixar.

Sundays are the day that I spend a very lengthy amount of time on Pinterest. Sundays will now also be when I post some of my favorite "Pins" onto this blog to spread them around. So here we go. Here are my favorite Pins of the day. :)

To go directly to the Pin's link, click HERE. I really liked seeing this today, because we really are living paycheck to paycheck, and this had some really good tips. :)

I saw this picture and it just made me so happy! I've decided I want to start doing ballet again. I'm registered for a ballet class fall semester and I'm really excited for it.

The caption for this one is 25 Important Fashion Lessons From Lizzie McGuire. I used to watch this show a lot and this list is really funny. I think you should check it out and laugh.

I'm currently obsessed with this quote. It's the best one I've seen in a long time and it's been making me feel a bit better about not having a job yet.

I really like this image and the tips on it because I love writing stories, and these are fantastic tips for writers.

My Favorite Fictional Couples

When I was in my 8th grade Spanish 1 class, we (as a class) once kept our teacher from teaching us any Spanish by having him rant about how the people that you are around influence you and you become like them (which explains my lack of knowledge on the Spanish language).

That story is only partially relevant to this post.

See, as I'm sure we all do, I have some of my favorite fictional couples from books and movies. And if the above statement is true, I would love to hang out with these couples, because their relationships are so strong and beautiful and I love the way that they love each other. I aspire to be like these couples (although my relationship, in my opinion, is better than all of these ones combined) because these couples work hard at their relationships and love each other no matter what.

So here is my list of ten my favorite fictional couples (with pictures and videos!!!) in no particular order. I know I'll be leaving out some good ones but I can always make another list later. (WARNING: May contain spoilers! Read at your own risk!)

Fergus and Elinor (from Pixar's Brave

Chris and I keep trying to watch this show but our DVD player is broken and really hates this movie (apparently) so we've never been able to get through it. I absolutely ADORE the relationship that Fergus and Elinor have. I don't care that this is a cartoon, but when Fergus sees that his wife may be sick, him immediately begins to worry. When he finds his wife gone, he really freaks out. But it's all out of love. You can see it and hear it and it's the cutest thing ever. I'm not the biggest fan of this movie, but they're relationship is so adorable. And Merida is so cute in the picture above!

Chandler and Monica (from Friends)

I talk about Friends way too much on this blog but it's only because it's my favorite!! I love that going through all the seasons, Chandler was always partial to Monica, even from the very beginning. And it's just so cute to me that it pays of for them. Everyone always want to marry their best friend (which I did) and Monica and Chandler absolutely did and it was just so perfect.

Ron and Hermione (from Harry Potter by JK Rowling)

I'm currently going through all the Harry Potter movies and it's so funny the relationship that Ron and Hermione have in the first movie/book. Their relationship is just cute. It's another friends to couple story, but theirs was kind of always there. Ron always felt something there and I'm pretty sure Hermione did too. And it's just the cutest relationship to read and especially to watch them as cute little 11 year old kids then turn into adults and have such a strong and meaningful relationship. Bravo JK Rowling. Bravo.

Shawn and Juliet (from Psych)

This is one of my favorite Shawn and Juliet scenes. I don't care that there have been a ton of adorable ones since this moment, especially since they ended up together (he is seriously the cutest boyfriend to her). This scene shows the beginning. Shows that he loved her, not like, love, from the moment that he met her. There is no cuter relationship than this one, because he always always loved her and never ever stopped.

Jim and Pam (from The Office)

Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski played these roles absolutely perfectly because their relationship is probably the best there ever was on television. It always felt so real that I often forget that they are actors and that they're really in relationships with other people. Jim and Pam are perfect in every way. This show let you see their relationship grow from a crush to married with kids and it was just so beautifully written (their relationship, not always the show) that their relationship really captivated you and made you happy.

Dill and Rosemary (from Easy A (yeah, I didn't know their names either until IMDB))

Ha ha ha! They are just too funny! I absolutely love this movie! They are the greatest movie parents ever, but they also have a very funny and cute relationship. She always picks him as family member of the week because she loves him so much. It's just cute and funny and loveable.

Also in this movie I love Olive and "Woodchuck" Todd. He is just so darn cute to her and always stands up for her and believes in her. It's very cute. If you haven't seen this movie, I do recommend it, however I also recommend that you're comfortable with "adult" issues and maybe a bit older before you see it (AKA, I do NOT want my little brother seeing it just yet).

Steve and Peggy (from Captain America: The First Avenger)

(SPOILER ALERT) This might be one of my favorite ones on here. Their love story is so dang cute and tragic and it just breaks your heart. However, Romeo and Juliet is one of my favorite books so I'm kind of in love with tragic love stories. First of all, Captain America is pretty dang attractive (I'm sorry husband, I still love you!!!!) so I'm automatically going to like him on screen. But then you add a very strong female character, which I love. I love how brave and strong of a character she is, it's refreshing from the usually super hero movies where the girl is just a damsel in distress. But their little crush is so cute and it builds and builds to this beautiful love story... then it fades away and your sad but you secretly know in your heart that everything is okay, because they got to experience true love and they got to be together, even if it was for a short while.

Marshall and Lily (from How I Met Your Mother)

I've already written a little about these two here, so I won't say a ton more. When Chris and I were watching this show together, we realized how much alike we are to these two. This couple will always have a special place in my heart because they just remind me of Chris and myself, and I love my relationship the most.

And also...

Marshall is pretty dang romantic and smart. He is wonderful in a relationship.

Ross and Rachel (from Friends)

I honestly don't think there's anything left to say after this video. He's her lobster. :) (and I apologize for the weird song at the end, not my video)

Bart and Allison (from Emeralds and Espionage by Lynn Gardner)

I first read this books when I was in middle school and I told myself that if I could marry any fictional character, it would be Bart. I don't have much to say except, please read these books and please learn about the beautiful and wonderful relationship that these two have which is so very real that it could easily be imitated in real life. Read this books and learn to love this couple as much as I do.

Products That Just... What?

I love exciting new inventions and products that make our lives better and easier. Example, I'm in love with my Kindle Fire. It's incredibly useful and just fun. But there are some new things that I just... what? Really? Can they be serious? So here's my list of weird inventions, products, technology, etc.

1. The Facekini

Okay, I barely even have words for this one. Seriously? Someone thought this was a good idea? Apparently it's the new thing on China beaches (article found here: http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/08/22/facekini-craze-takes-over-beaches-in-china/ ). My favorite part of this article is this:
"Note: the Facekini is also just the ticket if one is going straight from the beach to a bank robbery."
Do people really want to wear that to a beach? The colors make it beautiful and all... no... still not beautiful. Quite honestly, it creeps me out. But hey, if you're really that afraid of getting sunburnt or skin cancer, it's quite useful.

2. Bathmat that turns red when wet

Okay, this one makes me laugh, and is actually pretty cool. But red? Red is one of my favorite colors and all, but this seriously looks like blood. You could really freak someone out I guess...

3. Picnic Pants: For When Eating Off Your Crotch is Something You Want to Do

I swear I'm not making this stuff up. Sometime I worry about the laziness in America (and other places around the world). You can't balance a plate on your leg? You need pants to hold your plate in place? Oh, okay...? It's only a bonus that it's super fashionable as well.

4. The Defibrillator Toaster

This one is awesome. I don't really have words for it. I think it's funny.

5. Shark Pillow/Sleeping Bag

I like this one too. How fun would that be for little children? It's also great for teaching your children that sharks are nothing to really fear. Ha. But it looks like it would be comfortable...

6. AB Hancer

Ha ha. I don't have much to say about this one either. It's just too funny! This should be my new workout plan to get my six pack!! ;)

7. Honda Uni-Cub

Oh wow! How fun is that! You know what it reminds me of? The chairs for all the fat people in Wall-E.

The article I read about this product even said that Honda is supporting a fat future (found here:http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7-57434692-48/honda-uni-cub-promotes-our-fat-lazy-future/?ttag=fbw). This are a bit better than the chairs in Wall-e, I guess, I mean they aren't as big, they don't have all these technological advances that make us just incredibly lazy. But there are others that are more like the Wall-e chairs.

8. Sleeping Bag

This one is great! On camping trips you can just wear your sleeping bag as your pajamas! And if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, no messing around with zippers trying to get out of your bag, just take it with you!! If I had this, I'd wear it around campus, just to see people's reactions. And then I could just fall asleep anywhere in my handy dandy sleeping bag!

9. Full Body Sweater

So I go to Utah State in Logan, Utah and the winters there are really cold. Like really cold. I lose motivation to go to class because I don't want to brave the cold. So this would be kind of nice on those cold nights... but really... I would never wear that. Why? Because I'm not an alien.

and here comes my favorite...

10. The Hawaii Chair!!!

Now I can't say much more than what you see in this video. So here you go. Shout out to Ellen!!
