Wedding Attire

Yesterday Chris and I spent the whole day with my family, hanging out around town and celebrating my cousin's wedding. It was such a beautiful day, so much fun, and so relaxing to get a day off of work during the week. I may write a whole post about our day (I have so many pictures and videos) but we'll see. I also have a post about the night before, as Wednesday was our anniversary and Chris surprised me with an incredible evening.

But for now, enjoy my quick pictures of what I wore all day to the many wedding events. And CONGRATULATIONS NICK AND CAMI!!!

Aww... It's my sister! I don't know where her outfit is from, but I can ask if you're truly interested.

December Review

December is over? When did that happen? When did December even happen? I don't remember December actually going on... True story.

Basically nothing happened this month. We had finals. We moved. We struggled to pay bills. We celebrated Christmas. Our new place is still unorganized and chaotic. And that's basically my December. So this post will be incredibly short compared to my other Monthly Review posts.

________________________________________________________

The month started out with finals. My finals were incredibly easy this semester and I am so grateful for it. I worked super hard this semester and plan on working even harder this next semester! Here are my final grades for the semester:

Yay me! Passing grades! I really think I can do better by working harder. I'm happy with these grades though. I passed! :)

We moved and I have no pictures of our next place yet because it's not ready to be seen yet. It's a work in progress and I hope we all get settled soon.

And then suddenly it was Christmas. I had a fantastic Christmas! I wrote about it in THIS POST. But we actually did a lot more around Christmas time as well. We went to Zoo Lights, we visited Temple Square Lights, we played countless games, we rode Trax, we hung out with my grandma and Nana, we went to my cousin's baptism, I got my haircut, we ate so much good food and gained lots of weight (much to our enjoyment), and we had a fantastic Christmas break! ...and it's not over yet! We're going to my in-law's condo on New Years to snowboard, for my first time! I'm so nervous and excited! Here are just a few (okay, a lot) pictures from our break so far:

Driving around to see Christmas lights (although Logan doesn't have any)

My favorite Christmas treat: Candy Cane Kisses, BEST CANDY EVER!!

Finding a house barricaded with snow!

Going down the stairs Christmas morning to see what Santa brought us!

Christmas!! Yes, we love our onesies!

Posing with a rhino at Zoo lights!

Zoo lights

More Zoo Lights!

Nativity scenes at Temple Square

The Salt Lake Temple! So beautiful! Also, check out our new coats!

The temple does the best tree lights.

Love this temple!

Having fun!

Oh, and yes, my hat is a cow, and yes, I did get in for Christmas. Thanks Michelle!!!

Giant Christmas tree!!

I don't know why I love this picture so much!

After my haircut my cousin curled my brothers hair.

He looked so beautiful! ;)

Love you Nick!

I love my new haircut and my Pikachu shirt!

For some strange reason this month I've gotten more page views than any other month so far, and for this I am super grateful to you, my readers! You are so fantastic and I love you all! Thank you for making Things I'm Good At my most popular post this month. For me it was very personal and eye opening. I loved writing it and I'm glad you all enjoyed it. Thank you so much for the support you give me! You keep me writing!

Did you have a good December? What would be in your December Review? Please leave a comment below and tell me all about it!
THANKS FOR READING!!

Wa Hoo!!!

So I woke up this morning, super excited because I learned I got a Pell Grant!! It even exceeds the cost of this semester's tuition, so I'll have $88 to spare. $88 that will have to go to rent, or bills, or debt, but still, I'm happy that school will be all paid for!!

We still have to check Chris's account to make sure he also received financial aid for this upcoming semester (update, HE GOT ONE TOO!!), but I'm pretty sure his should be the same as mine. I'm hoping. I was also offered more loans, which we may take some of the money to buy books and pay off our current debt.

Everything has just been falling into place lately. I have a new positive attitude and I just have this feeling Chris and I will be able to make it. We went to the temple yesterday (we try to go at least once a month) and I really felt the spirit calming me down and letting me know that everything will be alright. I have a very strong feeling I'm going to find a job soon.

Well, I just wanted to share with all my blogging friends my good news. I really am super excited for school to start! And I'm even more excited to find a job! Wish me luck! :)

GO AGGIES!!!

Read the Book of Mormon in 50 Days!

I had a goal to read the Book of Mormon before I got married. And so far, I've failed. I've read 1 Nephi, and that's it, and, unfortunately, that the part I already know and have read the most! But I still have two months (exactly) and it's still a goal I want to achieve. It's become more of a challenge to myself and also to you, my readers.

I created a challenge to finish the Book of Mormon in 50 days.

I want you to join me! Whether it's your first time or your hundredth time, it's always a good thing to read the Book of Mormon again. Joseph Smith called the Book of Mormon "the keystone of our religion" and it truly is. The scriptures bring joy and comfort! They make us wise! So why wouldn't you want to read it?

If you are not LDS and would like to join me in reading the Book of Mormon, but do not have one, please contact me! I am more than happy to send you a free copy of this great and wonderful book. If you have any questions regarding the Book of Mormon or the LDS church, feel free to ask me and I will do my very best to answer your questions or find other resources to get you the answers you need.

If you are LDS and want to join me, I would also love to hear from you! I want to know about your experience. Every time I read the scriptures, I learn something new. I'd love to hear what new lessons and experiences you've learned while doing my challenge!

Feel free to copy the above image to your computer, tablet or mobile device. If there are any issues regarding the image, please let me know! Share this with all your friends and family so that they can take the challenge with you!

This will be an enriching experience for anyone who wishes to take the challenge! Thank you for reading and thank you for sharing!!

Welcome to December!

Welcome to December everyone!! December is such a fun month with a new year approaching and all the holidays! I'm super excited for Christmas! It's my favorite holiday because of all our great traditions!

Speaking of traditions, I want to share with you some of my favorite December traditions!

Visiting Temple Square in Salt Lake City!

This one is like a family tradition that doesn't always happen as a family. In high school I did this for a date a few time. I've loved having Trax built near my house (it's getting even closer soon!) because we can just hop on Trax and go right to Temple Square. If you haven't visited Temple Square in December, you really should. I don't care what religion you are. It's incredible to go and look at all the lights. They are so beautiful. Best part? It's all free!! (except for getting there) As an added bonus, you could visit many of the church buildings surrounding the temple to learn more. I love the Salt Lake Temple, it is so beautiful, especially in the winter.

Visiting the Hogle Zoo Lights!

This is a new tradition. I've always wanted to see the Zoo Lights, because even though animals scare me, I LOVE THE ZOO!!! So last year my amazing boyfriend (of only 1 month at the time) took me to see the Zoo Lights. We've made it a new tradition! We plan on going back this year and in the years to come! The Zoo Lights are fun because you get to see the fun Christmas lights as well as animals. Last year they didn't seem to have very many animals, but they did just open Rocky Shores, which has polar bears and more! So we're really excited to go back again this year.

Looking at house lights in neighborhoods around Salt Lake Valley!

Okay so this video is not from Utah. Thank you Tran Siberian Orchestra for that fantastic song! And while I've never seen a light show like this in person, I do enjoy looking at the lights people put up. I like driving around and looking at lights. (obviously I like lights, my first three were all about Christmas lights!)

Making Christmas cookies!

Who doesn't love cookies??? Usually I just eat the Christmas cookies. But this year, thanks to Pinterest, I'll be trying out a few things. Like tonight, I'm making brownies with crushed candy canes on top for a ward party!

Reading The Grinch by Dr. Seuss.

It's become a sibling tradition that every Christmas Eve, when our parents make us go to sleep so Santa can come (yep, I said Santa, more on that in a later post) we always sleep in the same room and read How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss. It's probably my favorite tradition because it's been going on forever! I remember when my little brother was first learning to read and he wanted to read it that year. So we listened to his adorable little voice and helped him out with some words and we read together. My brother and sister are like my best friends so it's so much fun when we get to spend Christmas Eve together.

These are my favorite December traditions!! I would love for you to share some of your traditions with me! Leave a comment! Thanks for reading and welcome to December! :)
