So today my mom and I went out shopping! I got some wonderful things, including the shoes for my wedding, I got to try on my wedding dress again and picked out a headpiece and veil to go with it! It was a fabulous shopping trip! As a part of my "In My Closet" segment, I'll be sharing with you what I buy, where and how much it cost.
So at Target I got two cardigans, black and white, and a gray maxi skirt. Everything was $15 each for a total of $48.08 and saved a total of $12.97!
These will be so perfect for my wedding!!! I got these at DSW in the clearance section for 70% off! I bought them for $19.21 and saved $61.02!! A very successful trip indeed.
I'd also like to point out that while buying the shoes, the sales clerk asked me if they were for prom. Nope, for my wedding. Last week a sales lady asked me how school was going and if I was excited for summer and spring break. No one believes that I'm 22, they all think I'm like 16 and in high school. Ha ha.
I'm trying to get a six pack before my wedding. I'm following a diet and exercising everyday. Here are my favorite ab workouts that I've found on Pinterest!
I'm in love with this video. I truly am. It makes me laugh every time! The guy at the end, "what?", it kills me! It's so funny! So I'm just making sure everyone in the world has seen this, because I'm in love!!! :)
This is a new segment on my blog. It's supposed to satisfy any clothing lovers who follow my blog. Although I must warn you, I'm not the most fashionable! I'm really not! I do love clothes and shopping though. So this segment is about what's in my closet, what I choose to wear and where I got it from. I hope you enjoy it!
Let's start at Monday through Wednesday (I apologize for poor quality photos!!). Monday I wore my favorite jeans and boots. The jeans are from Delia's. I ordered them online because there is no Delia's store in Utah. I get their catalog and I love them! They have such cute things! But so far I've only ordered jeans from them, but I love them! The boots I got for my birthday from Scheels, but I've also seen them at Smith's Marketplace. I've had the blue and white striped tank top for a long time and I can't remember where I got it, but it's one of my favorites. The jacket came with workout capris, like a track suit. But the jacket is really cute and comfy.
Tuesday I wore my new black boots from the Overstock.com Outlet store. I wore my gray jeans from JCPenny. I love JCPenny's because everything is adorable and at great prices. The shirt I got from Kohls. I have a love/hate relationship with that shirt... Sometimes I just don't like it. And Tuesday I didn't like it or my pants very much.
Wednesday I wore my Perry the Platypus t-shirt because I'm secretly in love with Perry! I got the shirt at Kohls. The pants I've had forever and can't tell you where they're from. The shoes are Vans and are one of my favorite pairs of shoes ever! They are so comfortable and they sparkle! I mostly wore a pull-over jacket that day so no one really saw my shirt, and I wish I had taken a picture of the jacket because it's one of my favorites. Someday.
Friday's picture is really weird looking and the outfit is terrible!! I love the shirt, it's from Zumiez. And I love my black pants/leggings. I'm not sure where they're from though. The shoes are awful, I realize that. Uggs are short for ugly, but somedays when it's snowing and I'm not going anywhere important or seeing anyone special, I wear my off-brand uggs (from Costco) because they're comfortable and keep me warm. But that outfit isn't that great. Note-to-self, never wear that outfit again.
Saturday's outfit I love! I was wear my lace 3/4 length shirt from Luxe with a black tank-top underneath. I'm wearing Lucky brand jeans and my favorite black boots. Saturday was a great day for me because I got to hang out with my best friend!
Sunday for church I wore my new dress from Overstock.com Outlet Store. I love it! I'm wearing black leggings from Luxe and my favorite black boots. Usually my hair in a ponytail like that doesn't look so bad, but today it wasn't really working for me. I love my new dress though!
Were you wondering why I skipped Thursday? Well that's because I worked all day in my lovely work polo shown above. The picture's from when I first started working there and was taken on my camera phone (which really sucks). The only difference now is that I have a new belt. I also put in my pajamas I wore for half the week, simply because they're my favorite pajamas and I just love showing them off!! (again, the picture is from my phone and from Christmas day)
Of all the outfits for the week I think Sunday is my favorite. Let me know what your favorite is and if you have any other questions about my outfits, just leave a comment! I love my readers!! :)
Chris turned 24 on Friday! It was the greatest day ever! So I had prepared for him... 24 hours of gifts! He had one present to open each hour! Each gift was individually wrapped and listed with the time he could open it. It went from cheaper gifts to the greatest ones. I'm really mad at myself for not taking more pictures, but here's what I do have:
So at midnight I gave him a card explaining that he was getting 24 hours of gifts! It had a pin inside as well with Lego Yoda that said Jedi Birthday! He forgot to wear the pin the whole day though. (although we did have a wedding and wedding dinner to go to so I understand that much)
The card had a punch out Darth Vader that he got to put together.
Aww!! He was so cute!
This was Chris's huge bag of gifts! It was pretty heavy. I'm still mad I didn't take more pictures. At midnight he got to take off all the tissue paper and see that it was really 24 gifts as opposed to one big one.
This is the inside of the bag about halfway through the day. All Star Wars wrapping paper (Star Wars was the theme of his birthday).
But it wasn't all Star Wars. I got him a Fruit Ninja card game. (Which I won!!)
Here are the presents on his bed about halfway through the day. :)
At 11:00 PM I gave him a confetti popper to "end his birthday with a bang". And boy was it LOUD!!
Okay, it doesn't sound loud in the video, but I promise it was. It scared me so bad I dropped my camera. (as you may have seen) It also made a huge mess in his apartment!
It was certainly effective. I took him out for dinner at Firehouse Pizza (where we ran into my ex) and then we hung out for a while in his apartment's hot tub. Most the day was spent at the wedding of our friends Kyle and Tiffany. We are very happy for them to be married and are excited for their baby coming this summer!
So here is what he got for his birthday:
Midnight: A card with a punch out Darth Vader model and a Yoda birthday pin (I wanted a crown but couldn't find any that weren't girly).
1:00 AM: 24 pennies!
2:00 AM: Mini soccer ball and a Darth Vader head with candy inside
3:00 AM: A Kermit the Frog sucker (that was wearing a Santa hat, I got it forever ago at an after-Christmas sale)
4:00 AM: 3 packages of balloons!! All different colors and sizes! There were over 100!
5:00 AM: Pez! Pez is surprisingly Chris's favorite candy. I got him R2D2, heart, and a creepy cupid head pez.
6:00 AM: Two decks of cards, Star Wars themed! One deck was the hero's vehicles and the others were villain vehicles. They were cool. We played poker with them the next day with his brothers.
7:00 AM: This Star Wars top thing?? I still don't know what it is exactly. It was cheap.
8:00 AM: Big Bang Theory card trivia game and Darth Maul headphones
9:00 AM: Fruit Ninja card game
10:00 AM: Spiderman mug and hot chocolate set.
11:00 AM: ... I cannot for the life of me remember what this was...
12:00 noon: 200 Classic Cartoons DVD set. I got this in the $5 movie bin at Walmart. It's four disks and we didn't watch it at all, but it's cool.
1:00 PM: A Yoda kite! Everyone needs a kite!
2:00 PM: A Lego Star Wars sticker book set thing. This was one of my favorites! It had three books: one about each of the Lego Star Wars mini figures, a sticker book with the Star Wars heroes and a sticker book with the Star Wars villains. Chris let me put all the stickers in the heroes one. It was great! The set also had a small Lego set for a space ship thing. He loved it!
3:00 PM: I gave his three homemade CDs. One was all love songs, one was the soundtrack from How I Met Your Mother, and the last was a bunch of Star Wars songs and remix Star Wars songs. It was fun.
4:00 PM: A briefcase thing from my dad's work with another Lego sticker book! This book was much bigger and had tons of stickers!
5:00 PM: A marshmellow shooter kit! This was just funny.
6:00 PM: Dinner at Firehouse Pizza
7:00 PM: The first two seasons of Friends!
8:00 PM: The Lego Star Wars video game for Wii! This is one of my favorite games. :)
9:00 PM: This awesomely amazing Star Wars Cantina shirt I bought on Etsy! This was one of my favorites! He likes it a lot and it looks great on him.
10:00 PM: The Star Wars trilogy book version! I'm so excited to read this after we get married! I looked through it and I can't wait to read it!
11:00 PM: The confetti shooter and a big kiss!
I also went to his apartment in the morning before he woke up and made him French toast. I should win a prize for giving him a great birthday! It was a super fun day for the both of us!
I found the idea for Chris's birthday present on Pinterest, but really I could have thought of it myself.
So I made this box as pink and girly as I could, because that's what Valentine's Day reminds me of. I just covered a Vans shoebox with scrapbook paper. It looked really good!
On the inside I had a ton of paper hearts that had reasons why I love him. I also threw in a finger soccer game, which is really funny because it gives you mini cleats for your fingers. Chris loved his gift and I'm happy I made it all myself. :)
Chris gave me balloons and flowers!!!
White daisies are my favorite flower and I love the red flowers that were in there too! I also love balloons! Getting balloons just makes me happy!! He also gave me a necklace with my birthstone that matches the earrings he gave me for my birthday!
Jerrick's Fine Jewelry is good to us. It's where he got my matching necklace and earrings and my engagement ring. Chris likes them a lot. When he went in last week looking for a Valentines gift for me they remembered him and they remembered my birthstone from my birthday earrings.
If that wasn't enough, we went out for a lovely dinner at Chili's (because Logan doesn't have very many fancy restaurants) and had the most amazing dessert! Then he surprised me with tickets to go see Safe Haven. Which was pretty good. I've always liked Julianne Hough (she graduated from Alta High School like me!!) and Josh Duhamel (because he's amazing looking). My favorite part was when all the girls in my theater gasped because this guy was hiding in the shadows. It was the funniest thing ever because it was so obvious he was there!
Aww... how cute! Nearly naked angel babies almost kissing! No. It's not cute. It's weird.
Cupid is creepy. A little guy who flies around and shoots people with arrows? What they hay? Who wants to be shot by some love arrow? Not me. I found love without any arrows.
I hate Valentines Day.
Why? Because it's really dumb! It's just a way for couples to make each other buy gifts for one another and for single people to be depressed about their lack of a relationship. It's just dumb! Why do we put all this pressure on ourselves? Not only that, I first saw stores selling Valentines while I was Christmas shopping back in December! The holiday is too drawn out and people take it much too seriously! Buying gifts for birthdays and Christmas is fun, buying gifts for Valentines Day puts too much pressure on people.
So tomorrow for Valentines Day, I have a homemade gift for my fiance. I think he'll still like it even though it's cheap and simple. Also, Friday is his birthday, and I have some wonderful surprises for him on his birthday!
Please don't take tomorrow too seriously. It's just a dumb holiday that I really don't care about.
This is completely off topic, but I love Disney villain songs. Sometimes the villain songs are better than the hero or loves songs. So the title of this post is after the fabulous Scar villain song from The Lion King, "Be Prepared".
Basically the real point of this post is to tell all my readers that I'm out of my writer's block! I have lots to write about now, so be prepared. Basically here's what to come:
More Week of Workouts
A new Dance Moms evaluation
A post on the new show, Double Divas (because I have a few things to say about that)
More of my wedding plans
A new "fashion" segment
A makeover for this blog layout
More of what you want!
I want your opinions on everything! I want this blog to be for everyone because my real goal is to make money for different charities from the money made from this blog. So if they're anything you want from this blog, don't hesitate to leave a comment and let me know! Don't forget to tell your friends about my blog because the more viewers, the more money we can make for charity! Thanks to all my readers! You mean so much to me!
So anyone who knows me or reads this blog regularly knows that I'm engaged. I'm getting married May 11th, exactly 3 months from today! And I am super excited!!! People kept telling me how stressful planning a wedding is and not to freak out too much, but I'm loving every second of it! I love planning my wedding!! I love weddings! That's why I have another blog dedicated to weddings!
So since I've really been doing nothing with my life besides work and wedding plans, I'm going to share a few things about my wedding with you!
So Chris and I are getting married in the Draper, Utah LDS Temple. It's so beautiful!! I actually was blessed with the opportunity to sing at the temple dedication (because I live nearby). It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and really made the Draper Temple extra special to me. I'm so glad that my wonderful fiance agreed to get married there even though he's from Kaysville and rather fond of the Bountiful Temple.
I'm picking anemones as my wedding flower. Because I wanted to make things more difficult. Just kidding! But really, most floral places in Utah do not offer anemones. We're getting them through a website, Whole Blossoms. We haven't ordered them yet so if you've had some traumatic experience with them, you should let me know before I buy them. I just really want anemones because they fit my wedding colors perfectly (black, white, and red) and they are just so beautiful! But if they don't work out, I'll get gerbera daisies, the white ones with black centers, because they look similar and I love daisies!
I really wish I could show you all how beautiful my dress is, but my fiance reads this blog and he's not allowed to see my dress yet. But I got it at Bridal Expressions in Sandy, Utah. I loved their service and their selection. You can read a review about them here.
We're having Italian sodas at my wedding. Chris and I love Zupas! It's so wonderful! So next to their soda machine is a bunch of Italian soda syrup pumps, and that's what we want. We're going to have Sprite (or something similar) and then the syrup pumps. My favorite is raspberry and blackberry mixed! Yummy! We're still looking for where to buy our soda syrups, but I think we're leaning towards Torani.
Hmm... what other fun stuff should you know? ... I still don't have a cake. But I do know what I want the cake to look like and taste like, so it's just a matter of finding someone to make it for a reasonable price. I thought I found a good place but it wasn't the place that my mom's friend told us to go to so we're looking again.
I have an invitation place! Beautiful Wedding Announcements. In Riverton. They are excellent! I don't meet with them till March but they've sent me sample packets and I already won 250 free thank you cards with them. So they will be really good for us.
Chris and I agree on a lot of the wedding plans! That or he just pretends to agree with everything I say, which I find wonderful! He's been great in helping out! I just love him so much!
I'm super excited for my honeymoon because I'm going to DISNEYLAND!!! We still have things to finalize. We may be driving and stopping in Vegas for two days or we're flying straight to California and spending more time at Disneyland and the beach. We still don't know yet but I'm so excited anyways! We are also spending our wedding night at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. I'm so happy about that because it's my favorite hotel. Something about it just makes me happy. It's such a beautiful building!
What else can I tell you about my wedding...? I'M SO EXCITED!!! In three months I get to marry my best friend and then we get to live with each other and be with each other forever! This long distance relationship is getting harder and harder everyday, but it's only three months till we're always together! :)
My blog viewership has been slowing down. I haven't been writing many posts lately. But really, I just have nothing to say.
Except that I LOVE AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER!!! Best show ever! I watch it all the time! Everyday without fail! My brother and I always watch it from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM because it has Avatar Extras, which is just little pop ups with information, but sometimes they are really funny and most the time have very cool information!
Also, I'd like to say I'm the best girlfriend/fiance ever. Chris's birthday is next week and I have a lot of wonderful things planned for him. Twenty-four is old. So he deserves something extra special! And it's the only birthday where we're engaged. It reminds me of this quote from The Office, and I searched so hard to find the meme, but only found the picture:
Basically in the beginning they're talking about their Valentine's Day plans. Jim says something about them being very special because you're only engaged once. Then Pam gives him that look and won't talk to him. Ha ha. It's not funny when I say it! I tried so hard to find it with the captions!!
Anyways, this Valentine's Day/Chris's birthday are extra special because we really are only engaged once. This is the on Valentine's Day where we'll be engaged. Last year we were dating. Next year we'll be married. So it's a special and slightly hectic week next week. :)
Other than that, I have nothing to say. So sorry to my readers, I'm too busy making plans for birthdays and my wedding to write anything really special. I literally have nothing else to say.
I'm upset. Abby, why are you picking on Brooke? Why? Just because she left? She's back now, by the way. She actually even been in your group numbers lately. She was fantastic in your Arabian Nights number because that's the type of dance Brooke is best at. I've watched that dance like six times now, Brooke was your best dancer in that dance. And you wouldn't put her on the pyramid? I realize that the dance got fourth, but I watched the dance, the choreography wasn't that thrilling, a lot of your dancers messed up, but not Brooke. Yet you choose to punish her anyways. You keep asking her if she wants to be there, well if you're not treating her like she exists why would she say yes?
I also don't like you punishing Melissa, Maddie, and Mackenzie. Seriously, get over the fact that Melissa wanted to make friends with the other dance moms. Personally I would have done the same thing, become friends with the other moms who understand what you and your daughters are going through, because Abby, you never will understand Melissa or her children. Because I'm starting to think you aren't a real human being. Real humans don't treat people the way you treat people. What happened in your past that makes you so horrible to others? Were you bullied? Well so was my idol Demi Lovato and she's in an incredible place right now, she famous, rich, and she's incredibly nice regardless of having suffered from bullying. Even if you were bullied, you should realize how hurtful it is and just stop bullying others! You bully the kids, the moms, basically anyone you come in contact with, and it's just rude and unacceptable You're supposed to be a grown adult, Abby. Act like one. And sticking Maddie and Mackenzie at the bottom of the pyramid for no real reason other than hating their mom, is being a bully.
As a side note, Cathy, your little guy in the front was absolutely adorable! My sister and I kept smiling because of how cute he is and you could tell how much fun he was having. However, I personally am surprised your team even got second. They messed up, a lot. So I'm guessing the third place team messed up even more, because even though you have an all boys team, with that many mistakes second shouldn't be correct (maybe I'm just too used to my ballroom team though, they can't favor boys in those competitions). Also, Cathy, why don't you ever do your own choreography anymore? It's like you're admitting that you aren't good enough of a dance teacher/choreographer. Hmm... well if your adorable daughter is any indication of your dance teaching skills, your skills are basically non-existent. Sorry Vivianne, but you don't seem to like dance and you aren't that great. I'm sorry your mother doesn't know how to teach you right.
You gave Nia a solo!! I'm so happy!! Except, wait a second... you give her a lame, slightly boring song, not that great choreography, a boring costume, less than a week (which, when you never do solos, a week to learn one is pretty hard) and you expect absolute perfection? Seriously Abby? They say it all the time one the show and I'll say it now, you set Nia up to fail. I have nothing against Nia, I thought she looked beautiful, I think she danced with emotion and passion, her lines and arms were strong, she knew her dance very well and she performed like a professional. But it's not her fault the choreography and song were boring. That's all you Abby.
The last point I want to make is about Chloe. Chloe is one of your national title holders. Chloe is the best ballet dancer that you have on that team. Chloe dances for you week after week, constantly looking gorgeous, always dancing with passion and talent. You hate her mom. I don't really blame you for that. But why do you have to tear down Chloe because of her mom? Week after week after week! And Chloe is just a saint and never protests, very rarely cries (which you just love Abby) and is still always the nicest, sweetest little girl in the world. I don't blame Christi one bit for taking her daughter away while your screaming at her like a mad woman because her hat fell off. Seriously those hats sucked, they all looked much too big for the girl's heads, and I don't blame her. But you did. You really did. And you didn't even know yet if that hat drop cost you a win, which by the way it did not. You still got first place. Yet you came in there screaming and yelling at a little girl because her hat fell off. My gosh you are a monster.
Quite frankly I thought this dance was boring. While ALL your dancers danced it beautifully, it wasn't that thrilling to watch. Abby, I feel your choreography lately is lacking in excitement. Is that why you won't give Maddie a solo? Because you usually give her your best solos, but now you don't have anything good? :)
So I first met this girl in 7th grade choir class. We sat next to each other. She gave me a shirt and something else for my birthday after we hardly even knew each other! Our choir teacher always would look at us and smile because he thought we were good... except it was just her.
Janie is one of the nicest sweetest people I know. She's a fantastic singer and such a beautiful dancer! I'm so excited to share with you this video:
See how amazingly beautiful and talented she is??? This song is available on iTunes and you can learn more about her on her Janie Despain Official Facebook Page or her website. I hope you learn to love her as much as I have and help me support her in her musical endeavors.
Congratulations Janie on this wonderful accomplishment! I always knew you would become something special! :)
Congratulations Ravens on your win! It was a great game!
I'm so stuffed! Curse my sister for making the best guacamole and my mom for today making the greatest chicken I've ever had. I ate much too much today. But regardless, it was fun lying around with my family, eating and watching the Superbowl. But I'm definitely hitting the gym tomorrow. I mean I work at a gym! I might as well work out! :)
Happy Superbowl Day! I hope you all had a great day!
